00:00 So Jalen, sort of summarize what your experience at Cal has been so far.
00:06 You know, everything from the basketball to being on campus and in class and everything else.
00:12 You know, for me, coming here was a culture shock for sure.
00:15 Coming from Texas, you know, Texas and California are the complete opposite.
00:18 I would just say that.
00:20 But it's been good for me. I've learned to become a man, you know.
00:23 I've gotten away from what I'm comfortable with and gotten away.
00:27 I went through some adversity this summer.
00:30 I was struggling mentally to find my niche and living here and finding places to do and things to do.
00:36 But once I really figured out and learned, had made friends outside of the basketball place
00:41 and just figured out the land and all that.
00:43 I go to Walnut Creek all the time. I love Walnut Creek.
00:47 So just my experience with that part has been amazing.
00:51 Basketball, it speaks for itself. I'm having the best time of my life, you know.
00:56 I think that we're going to make some big things happen with this limited time that we have.
01:02 I can tell you one thing, the culture that we're building here is going to last long.
01:06 Way, way after me, you know what I'm saying.
01:08 And I hope what I'm doing this year and what this team is doing this year continues to build momentum going into the ACC next year.
01:16 And then let's talk about on campus. On campus, the campus is beautiful.
01:19 Like sometimes when I first walked campus, I was lost.
01:22 I didn't know where I was at.
01:24 I always put in my phone and I ended up at the top of the hill and my class was at the bottom.
01:29 So, man, the campus is beautiful. People have been showing mad love.
01:34 The fan base is getting better and better. They game in and out, you know what I'm saying.
01:40 And the academics have kicked you off.
01:42 The academics have kicked my butt for sure. They kicked my butt.
01:44 You know, I'm just going to keep pushing and fighting like I know.
01:48 But to be able to get a Cal degree is going to mean so much more to me down the line.
01:52 Probably not mean something to me right now at this moment.
01:55 But the people that I've met, the donors that I've met, everybody around the organization are just big time people, you know.
02:02 And when you want to become a big time person, you got to surround yourself with big time people.
02:05 So I feel like those connections that I've made here are going to suit me down the line when basketball, when the basketball stops dribbling, you know.
02:13 And I just appreciate everything. I appreciate God put me in this position to be a Cal and be a Cal bear.
02:18 a cowbear, you know what I'm saying?
02:20 And I'm just very appreciative.
