Marcus Semien has the chance to deliver a big-time season in an even-numbered year for the first time.
Transcript
00:00 It's probably merely a coincidence that Marcus Semyon has been so good in odd-numbered seasons
00:09 the past few years.
00:11 In 2019 with the A's, 2021 with the Toronto Blue Jays, and last season with the world
00:17 champion Texas Rangers, Semyon finished third each year in the AL MVP voting.
00:24 Now in 2020 he was limited by injuries to 53 games with the A's before taking off as
00:29 a free agent to Toronto.
00:31 And in 2022, his first year with the Rangers, he was good, not great, but in those odd-numbered
00:38 years he's been terrific.
00:39 And here we are in an even-numbered season, 2024, and it'll be fascinating to see what
00:44 he does and find out for sure that it's merely a coincidence that he's performed best in
00:49 the odd-numbered years.
00:51 If he delivers this year, then that whole narrative is gone.
00:54 I wouldn't be surprised at all if he does that.
