Is Alabama basketball doing anything different to improve on the glass?
Transcript
00:00 Yeah, coach, you already mentioned it, but the offensive rebounding rate after kind of the success that Texas A&M was able to have on the glass, even though you're all able to get to win.
00:07 How have you changed any of your preparation in terms of being prepared for that?
00:11 I'm just trying to continue to emphasize that it's, you know, we emphasize it before A&M and I did, I kind of made three points.
00:23 We got to turn them over more so there's less shots to get rebounds.
00:26 We didn't do a great job of that, again, staying in with that.
00:29 We need to keep them off the glass.
00:31 We didn't do a good job with that.
00:32 They had 26-0 boards, but we also said when they do get a rebound, they don't get points for it.
00:38 We still got to get stops.
00:39 To give up 26-0 boards and to only get outscored by, what was it, by five, I think, on second chance points was not bad.
00:48 So I did think we did a decent job still getting, like Garcia has eight offensive rebounds, only scores three points total.
00:56 You know, we did a decent job continuing to play guard, not being deflated when you give up an O board.
01:01 So we're going to have to do that.
01:03 Now, hopefully the 26-0 boards we gave up against A&M is significantly reduced and hopefully the turnovers, you know, we can turn up.
01:12 But, you know, Poland, you know, their point guard, kind of debate who, which, which one of their guys, their point guard, but Poland who plays a lot of point for them,
01:20 is number two in the country in assist turnover.
01:23 She doesn't turn the ball very much.
01:24 So, you know, it's not like there's a team that comes in turning it over a lot.
01:28 But, you know, if we could turn our pressure up, you know, with our guard, guarding one of their bigs, hopefully we can pressure it a little bit more.
01:36 You know, we got to do a better job with that.
01:37 - Check.
