00:00:00 These were the darkest days the world has ever known.
00:00:14 There were a lot of theories about how it happened.
00:00:18 Some thought it had to do with the tale of a comet that had passed too close to the earth.
00:00:24 Others simply believed it was time for man to atone for thousands of years of sinning.
00:00:28 If that were true, it makes one wonder how long this would go on.
00:00:34 It had already been some fifty years now, but no one really knew what brought them to
00:00:38 life.
00:00:39 They just came out of the ground.
00:00:42 Millions of them.
00:00:43 And hungry.
00:00:44 And hungry.
00:01:00 And hungry.
00:01:18 I dream the dreams that make you scream.
00:01:22 Send it to my parlor.
00:01:23 Send the spider to the prime.
00:01:26 If you're still here, show me you're the same.

00:03:12 (gunshots)
00:03:14 (eerie music)
00:03:17 - Nice shooting, bro.
00:03:22 - Thanks, man.
00:03:23 (gunshots)
00:03:28 Now how the hell did you do that?
00:03:32 - Damn if I know.
00:03:33 But it looked pretty cool.
00:03:36 - Yeah, it did.
00:03:38 (eerie music)
00:03:40 - Smile.
00:03:52 - Make sure you check their pockets.
00:04:04 - Yeah, man.
00:04:06 - Hey, where'd the girls go?
00:04:08 - I don't know.
00:04:10 But I think we gotta run away.
00:04:14 - Go after him, I'll find the girls.
00:04:16 - Right.
00:04:17 (eerie music)
00:04:19 (growling)
00:04:36 (growling)
00:04:38 - Need a hand?
00:04:46 Night, night time.
00:04:51 - Come on out, girls.
00:04:57 We don't wanna hurt you, we just wanna help.
00:04:59 Ladies.
00:05:03 Whoa, hi.
00:05:06 Okay.
00:05:07 Okay, okay.
00:05:10 Don't.
00:05:10 (gunshots)
00:05:12 - Need some help there, little bro?
00:05:13 - No.
00:05:15 I'm glad you showed up.
00:05:15 I thought I might have to kill one or two of 'em.
00:05:18 - Yeah, right.
00:05:19 Come on, let's get outta here before we're swarmed shut.
00:05:22 - Come on.
00:05:25 Come on, move it.
00:05:27 - Those who were strong enough to survive
00:05:31 the initial onslaught had taken up in small bands
00:05:34 and trained as soldiers to fight them as best we could.
00:05:37 Soldiers who would dedicate their lives
00:05:39 to fighting a war that could not be won.
00:05:42 A war of never-ending battles.
00:05:44 One where all that winning meant
00:05:45 is that you live another day.
00:05:47 Men and women alike were trained
00:05:50 in every type of combat imaginable
00:05:52 from the time they were very young.
00:05:54 It was a hard life.
00:05:56 A very hard life.
00:05:57 Every day filled with nightmares and heartache.
00:06:01 But at least it was a life.
00:06:03 And it was more than a lot of people had.
00:06:05 (upbeat music)
00:06:07 - Hey man, put the girls in the cage.
00:06:22 I'll go report to General.
00:06:24 - You know I don't like doing that.
00:06:26 - We don't have a choice.
00:06:27 Can't take the chance to run away before we re-ed them.
00:06:30 - Okay.
00:06:31 Okay.
00:06:34 Sorry ladies.
00:06:43 Only temporary.
00:06:47 Not my call.
00:06:51 - Now and then the soldiers would free
00:06:54 some human slaves from the zombies.
00:06:57 These were people who had lived their entire lives
00:06:59 being controlled and raised by them.
00:07:01 That is, until they were ready to be eaten.
00:07:04 - We're gonna have to come up with a good name for you.
00:07:16 I know.
00:07:20 I'm gonna call you Star.
00:07:22 Star.
00:07:26 You know, star like up in the sky.
00:07:29 Star.
00:07:30 We'll work on it later.
00:07:36 Okay, right now I'm gonna get you all some grub.
00:07:42 Food, you know?
00:07:44 Food, hmm?
00:07:46 Yeah.
00:07:48 Okay, hang tight.
00:07:51 I'll get you some food.
00:07:54 - We worked hard to re-educate these slave people.
00:07:57 We set up classes to teach them to talk and read and write
00:08:01 because while living with the zombies
00:08:02 they had never even heard speech before.
00:08:05 And then we would teach them to fight
00:08:07 and that is how we were able to slowly
00:08:09 but steadily grow our numbers.
00:08:10 - How'd the patrol go?
00:08:20 - Ran into a handful of them,
00:08:22 traveling with five female humans.
00:08:24 - Did you kill them all?
00:08:25 - Yeah, I think so.
00:08:26 - You think so or you did?
00:08:27 There's a big difference.
00:08:29 - We did.
00:08:29 - Are you sure?
00:08:30 'Cause if not, we gotta move camp right away.
00:08:32 Those puss bags are smart.
00:08:34 - I'm sure.
00:08:35 I ran the last one down.
00:08:37 I got him and brought the five girls back.
00:08:39 - Girls?
00:08:41 I need soldiers.
00:08:43 - Well, at least they're humans.
00:08:45 We're gonna have to teach them.
00:08:46 - Get them into re-education as soon as possible.
00:08:49 Maybe they'll be of some good use to us.
00:08:51 Find out anything more about their base camp?
00:08:53 - No, we didn't make it that far
00:08:55 before we ran into the ones we killed.
00:08:57 And you know what commandment two is.
00:08:59 Always save a human if you can.
00:09:01 - Of course I know what it is.
00:09:03 I wrote it.
00:09:04 You two go out again tomorrow morning
00:09:07 and check out their base camp.
00:09:08 We've got to know what they're doing.
00:09:10 - We'll head out at first light.
00:09:12 - Try not to use any more ammo.
00:09:14 We're gonna need all we can get soon enough.
00:09:16 - Right.
00:09:17 (upbeat music)
00:09:23 (gun fires)
00:09:26 - We've got a straggler.
00:09:37 One o'clock, about 200 yards.
00:09:42 - I'm on it.
00:09:44 Come on, come on.
00:09:47 (gun fires)
00:09:50 - It's too easy.
00:09:53 (upbeat music)
00:09:55 - What's up?
00:10:09 - I got some chicken on the fire
00:10:13 that'll be done in a bit if you want some.
00:10:15 - Yeah, okay.
00:10:17 - You thinking about mom and dad again, huh?
00:10:22 - Yeah.
00:10:23 Yeah.
00:10:26 Yeah, I was.
00:10:28 Well, actually, dad.
00:10:32 I was thinking how he used to sit around the fire
00:10:39 cleaning his gun while he'd tell his stories.
00:10:41 - Telling his stories, yeah.
00:10:42 Yeah, I think about those days a lot too.
00:10:47 - Yeah, no kidding.
00:10:50 He sure did love to talk about how life was
00:10:53 before the zombies came.
00:10:55 - Yeah, he did.
00:10:55 All those stories about people living together
00:11:00 in big cities, people just being people.
00:11:03 It's kind of strange, doesn't it?
00:11:07 - Yeah, it does.
00:11:10 It's hard to imagine, that's for sure.
00:11:14 - Ever think that maybe we were meant
00:11:17 to live this kind of life?
00:11:19 - No, I don't believe I ever thought that.
00:11:21 - Maybe we were.
00:11:23 Maybe dad told us those stories so that
00:11:26 we'd have something to believe in,
00:11:29 something to fight for.
00:11:30 - Knowing dad, that's probably true.
00:11:37 - Maybe, just maybe he told us
00:11:42 so that we'd be the ones to fight for.
00:11:47 So that we'd be the ones to change things
00:11:49 back to the way they were.
00:11:50 Or at least get started.
00:11:53 - That's a lot to take in, man, you know.
00:11:56 - It is.
00:11:58 A lot more to live up to.
00:12:02 Think we can do it?
00:12:07 - Hell yeah, we can.
00:12:09 - Yeah.
00:12:12 - Then we'll do it.
00:12:14 - We will.
00:12:14 (somber music)
00:12:17 - I gotta go check on the chicken.
00:12:20 I'll talk to you later, man.
00:12:23 - All right, dude.
00:12:25 - Brian.
00:12:31 I miss dad, too.
00:12:34 (somber music)
00:12:43 (siren blaring)
00:12:45 - Sometimes at night when the stars were out
00:12:56 and things were calm, you could almost believe
00:12:58 that you were in a normal world again.
00:13:00 The way the world used to be, they tell me.
00:13:02 Men, women, children living normal lives together.
00:13:06 Almost.
00:13:09 - Ladies.
00:13:12 (somber music)
00:13:13 - We hungry?
00:13:14 Here you go, it's okay, here you go.
00:13:16 There you go.
00:13:18 Hey, come with me for a second.
00:13:24 Come on, it's okay.
00:13:26 (somber music)
00:13:29 Okay.
00:13:43 This is food, okay?
00:13:49 Food.
00:13:50 Here.
00:13:51 Food.
00:13:56 Food.
00:13:57 Food.
00:13:58 - Yeah.
00:14:01 That's really good.
00:14:03 Hey, go ahead and eat.
00:14:06 - Food.
00:14:09 (crickets chirping)
00:14:12 - I think it's time to go.
00:14:14 Come on.
00:14:14 (dramatic music)
00:14:17 (growling)
00:14:24 (gun firing)
00:14:27 (growling)
00:14:35 (screaming)
00:14:38 (gun firing)
00:14:44 - Do it.
00:14:46 Go ahead and do it.
00:14:48 (gun firing)
00:14:53 (screaming)
00:14:56 - Come on, everybody out.
00:15:01 Go, go.
00:15:02 (growling)
00:15:06 (gun firing)
00:15:10 (gun firing)
00:15:16 (screaming)
00:15:19 (growling)
00:15:22 - This way.
00:15:25 (gun firing)
00:15:28 (screaming)
00:15:37 - Don't shoot.
00:15:41 - That was close.
00:15:42 - There's too damn many of them.
00:15:43 We've gotta make a run for it.
00:15:44 - What about David?
00:15:46 - He's on his own like we are.
00:15:48 He's on the retreat.
00:15:49 We'll meet up with him later.
00:15:50 - I'm not leaving him behind.
00:15:51 - We're not leaving anybody behind.
00:15:53 He knows where to go after he's on the retreat.
00:15:56 (whistling)
00:15:59 - Okay.
00:16:00 I think it's time to get out of here.
00:16:01 Go, go, go, go.
00:16:02 - Come on, let's go.
00:16:06 (gun firing)
00:16:08 I'll be okay.
00:16:09 Come on, damn it.
00:16:10 - Yeah.
00:16:11 (dramatic music)
00:16:14 (gun firing)
00:16:16 (dramatic music)
00:16:19 (gun firing)
00:16:21 (dramatic music)
00:16:25 (gun firing)
00:16:27 (dramatic music)
00:16:30 (gun firing)
00:16:58 (dramatic music)
00:17:01 - Stay as close to me as you can.
00:17:11 - Hey, Buzzy.
00:17:27 Give me a head count right away
00:17:28 and find out how much water we've got.
00:17:29 - Right.
00:17:30 - Buzz, check and see if my brother's here, will ya?
00:17:33 - No problem.
00:17:34 - You know if he was here, we'd already know it.
00:17:37 - Yeah, I know.
00:17:39 - He's a good soldier.
00:17:41 He'll be okay.
00:17:42 - Just hate the thought of him getting turned
00:17:43 into one of those puss bags.
00:17:45 - I wouldn't worry about that.
00:17:45 They're not gonna do that to him.
00:17:47 He's young and strong.
00:17:48 - Hope you're right.
00:17:51 - We'll get him back, Brian.
00:17:54 One way or the other.
00:17:57 - That's the other part that worries me.
00:17:59 We have 12 people total.
00:18:03 Enough food and water to last us a couple of days.
00:18:05 - Only 12, damn.
00:18:06 I was hoping for more than that.
00:18:09 Okay, we'll start rashing out the food and water
00:18:12 and if anybody gives you a problem with it,
00:18:14 just come to me.
00:18:15 - You got it, General.
00:18:16 - Come on, Brian, let's go get something to eat.
00:18:19 We're gonna need all of our strength
00:18:19 if we're gonna rescue the rest of them.
00:18:21 - I'll be right there.
00:18:23 - Come on, we'll eat and then we'll get on the radio.
00:18:26 We might be at one of the other camps, who knows?
00:18:28 (dramatic music)
00:18:39 - That was a day we all remember.
00:18:51 The day one of our most valuable soldiers, David,
00:18:54 was captured by the undead and taken to their farm.
00:18:56 The very thing he had spent his life fighting against
00:19:00 was in fact the thing that enslaved him.
00:19:02 It was a sad day for all of us,
00:19:05 but at the same time, it was a day
00:19:07 that would live on in our history
00:19:08 as the day that began to turn the tide.
00:19:10 (cows mooing)
00:19:13 (dramatic music)
00:19:16 That was the first time David had seen the farm.
00:19:36 He was surprised at what the zombies
00:19:37 had been able to accomplish on their own.
00:19:39 They were actually breeding and growing people.
00:19:43 Growing them to early adulthood
00:19:44 for one reason and one reason only, to eat them.
00:19:48 These zombies were different than any David had seen before.
00:20:00 They actually had their own hierarchy.
00:20:03 A leader, as it were, who barked out his orders
00:20:05 in unintelligible grunts and groans.
00:20:08 Nothing any human could really understand,
00:20:10 but apparently a way of communicating for them.
00:20:13 David learned quickly that he couldn't
00:20:14 let them hear him talk, at least not the leaders,
00:20:18 for that would certainly be his undoing.
00:20:20 - Get off me, puss bag.
00:20:26 (zombie growling)
00:20:39 (zombie growling)
00:21:07 (zombie growling)
00:21:10 (woman screams)
00:21:25 (zombie growling)
00:21:32 (zombie growling)
00:21:35 (zombie growling)
00:21:49 (zombie growling)
00:22:01 (zombie growling)
00:22:04 - We're together, see, me and her?
00:22:30 Me and her get it?
00:22:30 What am I saying, you don't get it?
00:22:34 You don't get it either, do you?
00:22:37 - What?
00:22:39 (sighs)
00:22:44 (upbeat music)
00:22:49 (guns cocking)
00:22:52 - How's it going, Jo?
00:23:03 - Hey, as good as it can be.
00:23:07 You know me, boss, I just roll with the punches.
00:23:10 - I hear ya.
00:23:11 How are we looking on the ammunition?
00:23:14 - We got plenty of lead, not a lot of powder.
00:23:18 Couple hundred rounds maybe, but that's it.
00:23:20 - Make as many lead heads as you can
00:23:22 and I'll see what I can do to round up some more powder.
00:23:25 - Whatever you say, boss.
00:23:26 - You lived with them for a while, right?
00:23:30 - Yeah, yeah I did.
00:23:32 That is, up until about the time I was 20 years old or so,
00:23:37 best I can figure.
00:23:39 So, of course, I can't say for certain.
00:23:41 I didn't know how to count back then.
00:23:44 - One of our guys was captured by them.
00:23:47 What do you think his chances of survival are?
00:23:49 (sighs)
00:23:51 - You know, that's a very tough question.
00:23:55 - I just want your opinion, Jo.
00:23:56 Nothing I'm gonna hold you to.
00:23:57 - Okay.
00:23:59 All right, well, pretty much depends on the person,
00:24:02 you know?
00:24:03 If he's smart and keeps his mouth shut,
00:24:06 he'll be okay for a little while,
00:24:07 at least until they figure out what to do with him.
00:24:09 And who knows if they think he's useful.
00:24:12 They may keep him alive for quite a long time.
00:24:16 But, you know, if he's the
00:24:18 hard-headed type,
00:24:22 talks in front of 'em.
00:24:24 Well, you know.
00:24:30 - Just say it, Jo.
00:24:30 - If he talks, they'll just eat him, sir.
00:24:34 - Yeah.
00:24:38 - Who are we talking about here?
00:24:40 - David.
00:24:41 - David.
00:24:42 Oh, David.
00:24:45 (sighs)
00:24:47 Guy with a smart mouth, right?
00:24:49 - That's him, all right.
00:24:50 - Hopefully, our smart young buck will hold his tongue.
00:24:55 - That's the best we can hope for, then, isn't it?
00:24:58 I'll let you get back to work now.
00:25:01 (sighs)
00:25:07 - That boy's in big trouble.
00:25:09 - Are you sure?
00:25:14 - Yeah, I appreciate it.
00:25:16 Thanks, Eagle Four.
00:25:18 Eagle Seven out.
00:25:19 - Damn.
00:25:23 - I don't figure as much.
00:25:33 We just have to figure that they've got him
00:25:34 and they're holding him.
00:25:36 - Yeah, either that or--
00:25:37 - No, no second guessing.
00:25:40 They've got him and we've gotta get him back.
00:25:41 That's the only way we can think about it,
00:25:43 you understand me?
00:25:44 - Yeah, I do.
00:25:45 Get this, we weren't the only ones attacked last night.
00:25:49 - Who else?
00:25:51 - Everyone.
00:25:52 - Everyone, what do you mean, everyone?
00:25:53 - All 12 camps.
00:25:54 Goons hit us all at the same time.
00:25:56 - Get the hell out of here.
00:25:58 All 12 camps at once?
00:26:00 - All 12.
00:26:01 - My God.
00:26:02 That takes a great deal of organization.
00:26:05 They're getting far too smart, man.
00:26:08 We're gonna lose this thing
00:26:10 if we don't make a move of our own, and soon.
00:26:14 - I'm ready, let's go now.
00:26:16 - Not quite that soon, Bri.
00:26:17 But it's not gonna be long, trust me.
00:26:21 As soon as I can organize the other camps, we'll go.
00:26:24 I promise you that.
00:26:26 - Good.
00:26:28 (dramatic music)
00:26:33 (snoring)
00:26:35 - Thank you.
00:26:55 - Foot.
00:26:56 - Yeah, food.
00:26:58 (lips smacking)
00:27:01 (gentle music)
00:27:04 - And as much as some things had changed,
00:27:07 others had remained the same as they had always been.
00:27:10 (gentle music)
00:27:14 (upbeat music)
00:27:25 (gentle music)
00:27:27 - Can you talk?
00:27:47 Okay.
00:27:49 I'm gonna give you about five seconds
00:27:52 to convince me not to kill you right now.
00:27:55 (breathing heavily)
00:27:56 - I saw him bring you in this morning.
00:27:59 I was working in the garden.
00:28:00 I knew you were an outsider.
00:28:02 A soldier, I just knew it.
00:28:05 (breathing heavily)
00:28:08 - She's okay, don't worry about her.
00:28:10 - She's hot.
00:28:11 Think maybe one night I could come in and--
00:28:14 - No. - Or not.
00:28:14 (breathing heavily)
00:28:17 I forgot I said it.
00:28:18 Like you're lucky you got studying duty.
00:28:21 Beats the hell out of working in the fields.
00:28:24 - You were saying?
00:28:25 - Oh yeah.
00:28:28 I was with Eagle Nine until I got captured
00:28:30 and brought in about five years ago.
00:28:34 I pretty much given up hope until I saw you this morning.
00:28:38 (breathing heavily)
00:28:42 - What's your name?
00:28:45 I'm David.
00:28:47 - You used to call me Sliver.
00:28:54 - Hmm.
00:28:55 Okay Sliver, how'd you get in here?
00:28:58 - I sneak around the farm a lot.
00:29:01 Pretty good at sneaking around.
00:29:03 That's how I got my name.
00:29:05 - Well then why don't you just run away?
00:29:07 - 'Cause I don't know where to go.
00:29:09 I didn't even know if there was anybody out there still.
00:29:12 And if they catch you running,
00:29:13 they don't just bring you back, they eat your ass.
00:29:16 (footsteps)
00:29:22 (breathing heavily)
00:29:25 I know where to go.
00:29:26 - Oh man, that's just what I was hoping to hear.
00:29:30 - Listen, can you get me a pencil and a paper
00:29:33 so I can make a map of the farm?
00:29:36 - I don't know, but I can see what I can do.
00:29:39 - Okay.
00:29:39 I'm gonna trust you.
00:29:41 If you keep that trust, I'll get you out of here.
00:29:46 If you break that trust, I'll kill you myself
00:29:49 and I'll feed you to these goons.
00:29:50 Do you understand?
00:29:51 - Yeah, that's no problem at all.
00:29:56 - Good.
00:29:57 You see what you can get me
00:29:59 and you meet me back here same time tomorrow night.
00:30:02 Can you do that?
00:30:04 - Yeah.
00:30:04 - Okay.
00:30:05 What?
00:30:08 - No thanks for talking to me.
00:30:11 Really.
00:30:12 - Yeah man.
00:30:19 (dramatic music)
00:30:20 - And so it went.
00:30:22 The hours turned into days
00:30:23 and the days turned into more days
00:30:25 and very little else changed in almost two weeks.
00:30:27 David was, however, able to put together
00:30:30 a crude map of the farm and where he was being held.
00:30:34 He carried it with him every second of every day,
00:30:36 just waiting for the right chance
00:30:38 to plant it on one of the zombies
00:30:39 that would go out into the woods on a regular basis.
00:30:42 He reasoned that if any of the people out there
00:30:43 killed that zombie and found the map,
00:30:45 they would know he was here
00:30:47 because the map carried his mark,
00:30:48 which was well known among the humans.
00:30:51 David knew this was a long shot,
00:30:52 maybe a really long shot.
00:30:55 It might take one trip or a hundred trips,
00:30:57 but at the same time, it was the only shot he had.
00:30:59 And while he waited for that chance,
00:31:01 he spent a few hours every night
00:31:03 teaching his new friend to talk.
00:31:04 The young lady learned quickly for someone
00:31:07 who had been brought up by the undead.
00:31:10 Getting her to say the words was the easy part.
00:31:12 The hard part was getting her to understand them.
00:31:15 But the one thing she knew instinctively
00:31:17 was not to talk in front of the zombies.
00:31:19 He didn't have to teach her that.
00:31:21 That was because she had grown up here
00:31:24 and had seen what happened to people
00:31:25 who talked out loud probably too many times.
00:31:27 Sliver came in to see David almost every night,
00:31:31 and it would seem that they were starting
00:31:32 to become pretty good friends.
00:31:34 After all, he was the only one David could really talk to,
00:31:38 and that counts for a lot in a place like this.
00:31:40 But it would be unwise to mistake that for trust.
00:31:45 David would use him for as much as he could,
00:31:47 but he wasn't about to trust anyone in this place.
00:31:49 Then the day David was waiting for finally came.
00:31:53 - Hit me.
00:31:55 Hit me.
00:31:59 Hit me.
00:32:00 (sword thuds)
00:32:04 (sword thuds)
00:32:09 (zombie growls)
00:32:14 (zombie growls)
00:32:17 - David knew there was something wrong
00:32:25 the second he saw that bar of soap.
00:32:28 There was no way in the world
00:32:29 these undead things had made that.
00:32:31 They may have figured out how to farm humans for their food,
00:32:34 but they were not sophisticated enough to make soap.
00:32:36 No way.
00:32:38 Something else was going on here,
00:32:40 and he was determined to find out what it was,
00:32:42 one way or the other.
00:32:44 (zombie growls)
00:32:53 (suspenseful music)
00:32:57 - Hey.
00:33:09 (sword thuds)
00:33:11 Surprised to see me?
00:33:12 You're not the only one who can sneak around.
00:33:15 - I don't understand what's going on.
00:33:17 - I wanna know where the hell the soap comes from,
00:33:19 and you better talk fast.
00:33:20 - I don't know.
00:33:21 - Not good enough.
00:33:23 (sword thuds)
00:33:25 Tell me where it comes from.
00:33:26 - I don't know.
00:33:28 - Bullshit, I think you do.
00:33:29 I think there's something you're not telling me.
00:33:31 - Look, I saw a couple of goons.
00:33:33 They took it in the case, and that's all I know.
00:33:35 I swear.
00:33:37 - Where'd they get it?
00:33:38 - I don't know.
00:33:39 (sword thuds)
00:33:40 - Where did they get it?
00:33:41 - I don't know.
00:33:43 - Well, I know damn well that they don't make it themselves,
00:33:45 and they have to get it from somewhere.
00:33:46 Tell me where it comes from.
00:33:47 - I don't know.
00:33:48 - Where'd they get it?
00:33:49 - I'm telling you the truth.
00:33:50 (sword thuds)
00:33:51 - Where does it come from?
00:33:52 - I don't know.
00:33:53 - All right.
00:33:59 All right.
00:34:02 Sorry about that.
00:34:04 - It's all right.
00:34:07 I'd be pissed too.
00:34:09 - Yeah.
00:34:10 - Man, you hit hard.
00:34:14 - That's what I do.
00:34:16 Do you think you can find out where that soap comes from?
00:34:18 - I don't know.
00:34:19 I could try.
00:34:21 - You do that.
00:34:22 I gotta get back before the patrol goes through the barn.
00:34:25 No hard feelings?
00:34:28 - No.
00:34:29 Not a work for a man.
00:34:30 - All right.
00:34:32 Later, man.
00:34:38 - Asshole.
00:34:39 (dramatic music)
00:34:46 (creature growling)
00:34:59 (dramatic music)
00:35:02 (creature growling)
00:35:29 (dramatic music)
00:35:32 (creature growling)
00:35:35 (dramatic music)
00:35:39 (sword thuds)
00:35:49 (dramatic music)
00:35:51 (sword thuds)
00:36:02 (sword thuds)
00:36:05 (dramatic music)
00:36:07 (creature growling)
00:36:20 (bell dings)
00:36:27 (creature growling)
00:36:30 (dramatic music)
00:36:33 - Then one day, strange things started to happen.
00:36:42 Things that none of us had ever even thought of before.
00:36:44 - You wanted to see me, Sliver?
00:36:50 - How are you doing this evening, sir?
00:36:52 - I'd be doing a lot better if I wasn't out here.
00:36:55 Let's get this over with.
00:36:56 What did you want to tell me?
00:36:58 - There's an outsider in the camp.
00:37:00 He's a soldier.
00:37:02 - A soldier?
00:37:03 Are you certain?
00:37:04 - Oh yeah.
00:37:05 They brought him in from the woods a couple weeks ago
00:37:07 with some of the runaways.
00:37:09 I made friends with him.
00:37:11 - You made friends with him?
00:37:13 Good, that was smart.
00:37:15 - But I don't think he trusts me.
00:37:17 - Why does he need to trust you?
00:37:19 - I think he got a message out to his regiment.
00:37:21 - And that could be a problem.
00:37:25 Look, you keep an eye on him.
00:37:27 I'll discuss the situation with the council
00:37:29 and I'll get back to you.
00:37:30 - Yes, sir.
00:37:31 - And Sliver, you better be prepared to kill him
00:37:34 if the council deems it necessary.
00:37:36 - To kill him, sir?
00:37:37 - Do you have a problem with that?
00:37:40 - Well, he is a human, sir.
00:37:43 - Look, you know what's at stake here.
00:37:45 We need to take every step necessary to ensure our safety.
00:37:48 You got that?
00:37:49 - Yes, I understand, sir.
00:37:52 Don't worry, you can count on me.
00:37:55 - I better be able to count on you.
00:37:57 I'll see you back here tomorrow night, the same time.
00:37:59 You got it, got that?
00:38:00 - Right.
00:38:01 - All right.
00:38:02 (dramatic music)
00:38:05 - What are you doing, Brian?
00:38:10 - Going hunting.
00:38:14 We're running a little low on food.
00:38:16 - Stripped a little heavy for game hunting, aren't you?
00:38:19 - You never know what you might run into out there.
00:38:21 - Is this true?
00:38:24 - Tell you what, give me five minutes to get my gear
00:38:27 and I'll go with you.
00:38:28 - Nah, I think I can handle this alone.
00:38:30 - You probably can.
00:38:31 Like you said, you never know what you might run into.
00:38:35 Five minutes.
00:38:38 - Yeah.
00:38:40 (dramatic music)
00:38:45 (suspenseful music)
00:38:48 (suspenseful music)
00:38:51 (suspenseful music)
00:38:54 (suspenseful music)
00:38:57 (suspenseful music)
00:39:00 (suspenseful music)
00:39:03 (suspenseful music)
00:39:31 (suspenseful music)
00:39:34 (suspenseful music)
00:39:40 (suspenseful music)
00:39:46 (suspenseful music)
00:40:01 (suspenseful music)
00:40:04 (whistle blowing)
00:40:09 (gunshots firing)
00:40:13 (gunshots firing)
00:40:15 - Stop.
00:40:33 - What the hell are you doing?
00:40:37 - Only when I have to.
00:40:38 (gunshot firing)
00:40:42 (gun clicking)
00:40:44 - Thanks, I think.
00:40:46 - It's only a little scratch.
00:40:48 I think you'll live.
00:40:49 - You could have said duck or something.
00:40:51 - Did we get 'em all?
00:40:53 - Yeah, I think so.
00:40:55 - Let's go check out those boxes.
00:40:57 (gentle music)
00:41:00 - And some things began to get even stranger yet.
00:41:03 Things that should not be happening.
00:41:05 Things that our people could not explain
00:41:07 no matter how hard they may have tried.
00:41:09 (gentle music)
00:41:12 - What is it?
00:41:25 - I don't know.
00:41:26 Let's find out.
00:41:28 Hello.
00:41:32 What is this?
00:41:34 Looks like beans of some sort.
00:41:37 (gentle music)
00:41:40 Tastes pretty good too.
00:41:42 - Let me try that.
00:41:43 Yeah, that is good.
00:41:48 Where the hell did it come from?
00:41:50 - That's the question, ain't it?
00:41:52 They damn sure didn't can it
00:41:53 and I know they didn't make it.
00:41:55 - They don't eat it either.
00:41:57 - No, they don't.
00:41:58 Check out some of the others.
00:42:01 This is corn.
00:42:06 (gentle music)
00:42:09 - This one's little potatoes.
00:42:14 Damn tasty ones too.
00:42:19 - I'd say we had a pretty damn good hunt today.
00:42:26 - Yeah, we did.
00:42:27 We gotta figure out where this came from.
00:42:29 - First thing is we gotta get all this back to camp
00:42:31 and there's no way we can carry it all by ourselves.
00:42:33 - You go back to camp.
00:42:35 - Take one with you.
00:42:36 Send some muscle back to get some more.
00:42:38 - All right, well you pull the rest of it off the path
00:42:40 in case the goons come through.
00:42:41 I don't want them to get any of it back.
00:42:43 - That's why you're the boss.
00:42:44 - We might not make it back before dark
00:42:46 so make yourself scarce, listen for my signal.
00:42:48 - Don't worry about me.
00:42:49 - Look, if anything happens, don't be a hero.
00:42:51 Just come back to the base camp, okay?
00:42:53 - Is that an order?
00:42:54 - No, it's a friend.
00:42:56 - Okay, Mom.
00:42:57 Just go.
00:42:58 - Told you not to call me that.
00:43:04 (dramatic music)
00:43:07 (grunting)
00:43:09 (dramatic music)
00:43:12 (growling)
00:43:31 (dramatic music)
00:43:34 - It's okay.
00:43:51 (dramatic music)
00:43:54 (growling)
00:43:56 (dramatic music)
00:43:59 (growling)

00:47:44 (dramatic music)
00:47:47 (dramatic music)
00:47:52 - Kiss.
00:47:53 - Yes, kiss.
00:47:56 (dramatic music)
00:48:04 - Kiss good?
00:48:06 (dramatic music)
00:48:08 - It sure is.
00:48:09 (dramatic music)
00:48:18 - Kiss good?
00:48:19 (dramatic music)
00:48:20 It sure is.
00:48:23 (dramatic music)
00:48:36 - What's up?
00:48:37 - I don't know, what?
00:48:39 Not much at all, just thought I'd check in
00:48:43 and see what's up, if anything.
00:48:45 - Yeah, there's something I wanna tell you.
00:48:48 - Yeah, what's that?
00:48:51 (dramatic music)
00:48:54 - You know, there's a big difference
00:48:55 between killing a man and killing
00:48:56 one of those puss heads out there.
00:48:58 That'll count, they're already dead, but
00:49:01 to kill a real flesh and blood human being,
00:49:07 well that takes an entirely different kind of person.
00:49:09 - Yeah?
00:49:11 So why are you telling me this?
00:49:13 - I just thought it was something
00:49:15 you should know, that's all.
00:49:17 There's one other thing.
00:49:19 - Yeah, what's that?
00:49:21 - You better be damn sure that you're that kind of person
00:49:23 before you pull that knife out, 'cause if you hesitate
00:49:25 for even a fraction of a second, I'm gonna take
00:49:27 that knife from you and I'm gonna cut your eyeballs out.
00:49:29 So what's it gonna be, sliver?
00:49:34 - We're, we're good.
00:49:39 - I'm glad to hear that.
00:49:47 - What do you want, the knife?
00:49:49 - Nah, I just wanna shake your hand, that's all.
00:49:53 You're a good man, sliver, I mean it.
00:50:00 - I appreciate that.
00:50:04 But there's some things I need to tell you
00:50:07 and I don't think you're gonna like 'em.
00:50:10 - Yeah, I figured as much.
00:50:14 - And that is when David first learned the real truth
00:50:16 about this farm, how it started
00:50:18 and who kept it running like it did.
00:50:20 (whistle blowing)
00:50:32 - Where are they?
00:50:33 Okay, what's going on?
00:50:37 - I'm just joking with you, Brian.
00:50:39 - There's no alarm?
00:50:41 - Nope.
00:50:42 - Okay, that's not very funny.
00:50:44 - It was pretty damn funny to me.
00:50:46 I promise I won't do it again, okay?
00:50:51 - Okay.
00:50:54 - No worries, General.
00:51:01 - Got some good news for you.
00:51:02 In about two hours, we leave to go meet the other regiments
00:51:06 and we're going after David.
00:51:08 - Today?
00:51:10 - Today.
00:51:11 - It's about damn time.
00:51:13 (gentle music)
00:51:16 (fire crackling)
00:51:17 - You think they're coming today?
00:51:33 - It's hard to say.
00:51:36 - I'm running out of time.
00:51:40 If they find out I didn't kill you,
00:51:42 they're gonna come after me.
00:51:45 - You think you can get me a gun?
00:51:46 - That's a pretty tall order.
00:51:49 - Shh.
00:51:51 Can you do it?
00:52:02 - Yeah, I think so.
00:52:06 - Do it as fast as you can.
00:52:09 If my people don't come soon,
00:52:11 we're gonna break out of here.
00:52:13 - Isn't that a bit risky?
00:52:14 - You're just gonna have to trust me.
00:52:18 - Yeah, okay, yeah.
00:52:23 - Looks like we're the first ones here.
00:52:36 Everybody take a break.
00:52:39 - Okay.
00:52:41 - Everybody take a break.
00:52:42 - How long are we gonna wait?
00:52:44 - At least for a couple of hours.
00:52:46 Get comfortable.
00:52:48 - Right.
00:52:50 I think that's gonna happen.
00:52:52 - This was always the worst part
00:52:58 of being in this God forsaken place.
00:53:00 The time when the undead tasted the food of their labor
00:53:03 and ate a couple of humans they had raised.
00:53:05 Four to six of them a day, sometimes more.
00:53:10 It's a horrible way to die.
00:53:11 - What's going on, sliver?
00:53:14 I gave you that phone to call the militia
00:53:17 in case you had a problem, not to bother me.
00:53:19 - Yes, sir, I know.
00:53:21 - Good, I'm glad you know.
00:53:24 Well, what, what do you want?
00:53:28 - Well, sir, I need a gun.
00:53:30 - You need a gun?
00:53:32 Are you telling me you can't get this thing done
00:53:35 without a gun?
00:53:37 - I went to see him.
00:53:39 I went to see him with a knife,
00:53:40 but he's just too big.
00:53:42 He'd kill me for sure.
00:53:45 - Jesus, sliver, how the hell did you get this job anyway?
00:53:48 - I volunteered.
00:53:50 - Never mind, it's a rhetorical,
00:53:52 now forget it.
00:53:54 Look, I'm gonna give you this gun.
00:53:56 But you better make damn sure you get the job done,
00:54:00 understand?
00:54:02 - Yes, sir, I understand perfectly.
00:54:04 - You better get it done, sliver,
00:54:06 or those zombies will be having sliver
00:54:08 and onions for dinner, got it?
00:54:09 - Don't worry, I will get it done.
00:54:11 - Make sure you do, sliver.
00:54:15 Make sure you do.
00:54:18 - Name's Cap,
00:54:37 leader of the Eagle Three.
00:54:38 - General, Eagle Seven.
00:54:40 Is this all you got?
00:54:42 - Well, there not many.
00:54:44 They aren't too pretty either,
00:54:46 but they're damn good fighters.
00:54:48 - I'm sure they are.
00:54:50 Any word from the others?
00:54:52 - I don't wanna say this in front of everyone.
00:54:55 Let's walk.
00:54:57 - Spit it out, what the hell's going on?
00:55:02 - The other regiments aren't coming.
00:55:04 - Why the hell not?
00:55:06 - To be honest with you, I don't really know,
00:55:07 but I think it's got something to do with that zombie farm
00:55:09 where your man's being held.
00:55:11 - Well, that makes no sense to me,
00:55:13 because I thought we were all in this together.
00:55:15 - I know, that's the way I see it too,
00:55:17 but I think there's some people that might see it differently.
00:55:19 - How so?
00:55:21 - Well, there's some people who think that farm
00:55:24 is a good idea.
00:55:26 - Are you trying to tell me that there are people
00:55:30 behind what happened inside that farm?
00:55:32 - I can't answer that.
00:55:35 - No, it's just a hunch I got.
00:55:37 - Well, if there are,
00:55:41 they're gonna die with those pus bags.
00:55:43 I'll understand if you wanna go.
00:55:47 (laughing)
00:55:49 - That's not my style.
00:55:51 We're with you all the way.
00:55:53 - Glad to hear it.
00:55:55 - When do you wanna move out?
00:55:57 - Right now. - Let's do it.
00:55:59 (zombie growling)
00:56:01 - Star, listen to me.
00:56:03 We're getting out of here really soon, okay?
00:56:05 We're going, when we do, all hell is gonna break loose,
00:56:08 so I need you to stay close.
00:56:10 Do you understand?
00:56:12 Stay close.
00:56:14 - Star,
00:56:18 stay close.
00:56:21 - That's right.
00:56:23 That's right, Star.
00:56:32 - Psst.
00:56:33 - What's up, man?
00:56:46 - I got what you asked for.
00:56:48 - How'd you get it so quick?
00:56:53 - I went to my people and I told them I needed it to kill you.
00:56:57 You only have one clip and 15 rounds.
00:57:01 So, you better make it count.
00:57:03 - Create a diversion outside in 15 minutes.
00:57:06 When you hear gunfire, go into the woods and run east.
00:57:10 You got that? - East, I got it.
00:57:12 - We're getting out of here, baby.
00:57:17 We're getting out of here today.
00:57:23 (dramatic music)
00:57:27 (guns firing)
00:57:29 (dramatic music)
00:57:58 - Hey, hey, come and get him.
00:57:59 Come on, you freaking push-back.
00:58:01 Come on, come on.
00:58:03 David, now's the time, man.
00:58:05 Do your thing.
00:58:07 Come on.
00:58:09 - Time to go.
00:58:11 Come on.
00:58:13 Bye-bye.
00:58:28 - Come on, you fuckers, come on.
00:58:30 Let's go, man.
00:58:32 - Come on, let's go, come on.
00:58:36 You wanna live, don't you?
00:58:45 - Yeah, live.
00:58:49 - You can talk.
00:58:51 - Yeah.
00:58:53 - What's your name?
00:58:56 - Okay, John, I want you to get these people
00:58:58 out of here and follow me, got it?
00:59:00 - Okay.
00:59:02 (dramatic music)
00:59:04 (gun firing)
00:59:13 - The woods, man, go for the woods.
00:59:25 (growling)
00:59:26 John, John.
00:59:29 (growling)
00:59:31 I need you to take them all into the woods, okay?
00:59:35 - Okay.
00:59:37 - Star, I want you to,
00:59:38 I want you to go with him, okay?
00:59:40 Go with him, understand?
00:59:42 Go.
00:59:45 Take care of her.
00:59:47 - Okay, okay.
00:59:49 (growling)
00:59:52 - Hey, puss heads!
00:59:53 (growling)
00:59:56 Get to the woods, man, do it now.
01:00:01 (growling)
01:00:04 Shit.
01:00:07 (dramatic music)
01:00:09 (growling)
01:00:18 (dramatic music)
01:00:19 (growling)
01:00:22 - Fuck you!
01:00:25 You don't have the balls to fight me yourself,
01:00:28 do you, asshole?
01:00:30 (growling)
01:00:32 (gun firing)
01:00:35 (gun firing)
01:00:39 (gun firing)
01:00:43 (dramatic music)
01:00:46 (gun firing)
01:00:47 - Kill him, kill them all!
01:00:49 (gun firing)
01:00:53 (gun firing)
01:00:55 - Come on, get out, go, go, go, to the woods!
01:00:57 Get to the woods!
01:00:59 (gun firing)
01:01:01 - Goodbye.
01:01:03 Oh, shit.
01:01:04 (growling)
01:01:06 (gun firing)
01:01:08 (growling)
01:01:10 (gun firing)
01:01:14 (gun firing)
01:01:15 - Thanks, man.
01:01:17 (dramatic music)
01:01:20 (growling)
01:01:22 (gun firing)
01:01:24 (gun firing)
01:01:26 (growling)
01:01:28 (gun firing)
01:01:30 (gun firing)
01:01:34 - Good to see you, man.
01:01:36 - Good to see you.
01:01:38 - Come on, let's get out of here.
01:01:40 - No way, there's still people here.
01:01:43 (gun firing)
01:01:44 - We gotta get 'em out.
01:01:46 - Let's go.
01:01:47 - Follow me.
01:01:48 (gun firing)
01:01:51 (growling)
01:01:54 - Whoa!
01:01:57 - Show off.
01:01:59 - Who, me?
01:02:01 (gun firing)
01:02:30 (dramatic music)
01:02:32 (gun firing)
01:03:00 (screaming)
01:03:01 (screaming)
01:03:29 - David, David.
01:03:30 - Yes, it's David, come on.
01:03:32 - Jesus.
01:03:55 Jesus.
01:03:56 (gun firing)
01:04:01 - Whoa!
01:04:02 Whoa, man, don't shoot me.
01:04:03 Christ, man, you damn near gave me a heart attack.
01:04:06 - Didn't mean to.
01:04:08 - Come on, let's get the hell out of here.
01:04:10 - Have you seen Star?
01:04:12 - Star?
01:04:13 - My girl, man, my girl.
01:04:14 - Yeah, yeah, she was heading to the woods a little bit ago.
01:04:17 - I gotta find her.
01:04:19 - Let's go.
01:04:20 (dramatic music)
01:04:23 (gun firing)
01:04:24 - What's the matter, puss head, you don't like that?
01:04:36 - Get away from me, you maggot factory.
01:04:38 - What's the matter, cat got your tongue, huh?
01:04:42 Oh, I forgot.
01:04:44 Probably ate the damn thing, didn't you?
01:04:46 You hungry, boy, huh?
01:04:48 You hungry, boy?
01:04:49 You wanna eat?
01:04:50 - No, I'm not hungry.
01:04:51 - You want to take a bite of me?
01:04:52 - Cap, over there.
01:04:55 - What the hell are you guys doing?
01:04:59 - Oh, nothing, boss, just having a little fun.
01:05:02 - Well, just kill the damn thing and get it over with.
01:05:05 We got work to do.
01:05:06 - You heard the boss.
01:05:08 Sorry, bud.
01:05:09 (growling)
01:05:11 (gun firing)
01:05:14 - Let's get out of here.
01:05:16 (dramatic music)
01:05:17 - Look who I found.
01:05:27 - David, damn, it's good to see you alive.
01:05:29 - It's good to be alive.
01:05:31 - Oh, come here.
01:05:32 - Okay, okay, big guy, that's enough.
01:05:35 Has anybody seen Star?
01:05:37 Good looking girl, long hair?
01:05:40 I gotta find her.
01:05:43 Star!
01:05:44 Star!
01:05:45 Star!
01:05:47 - She was over there in the woods just a few minutes ago.
01:05:50 - Where?
01:05:52 - Right over there.
01:05:54 I saved her from one of those pus bags,
01:05:56 and then we got attacked by another one
01:05:58 and she ran off while I was fighting it.
01:06:00 - Damn.
01:06:02 Which way did she go?
01:06:04 - I don't know, man, she just ran off.
01:06:06 - I gotta find her, you guys.
01:06:09 General, this is Sliver.
01:06:10 He has some things he wants to tell you
01:06:12 about this place that you need to know.
01:06:13 He's a good man, you can trust him.
01:06:14 - Let me send somebody with you.
01:06:16 - Geronimo.
01:06:18 - I'm on it, boss.
01:06:20 - No, no, that's okay, this won't take long, really.
01:06:22 - He's going with you, David.
01:06:23 No excuses, no arguments.
01:06:25 - Okay.
01:06:27 Okay.
01:06:29 - Okay, guys.
01:06:34 Start tearing this place down.
01:06:36 I don't want to see anything left standing.
01:06:38 - Yes.
01:06:40 - Nothing.
01:06:42 - Let's take a walk, you and me.
01:06:43 - You taught me how to paint when I was 10 years old.
01:06:50 Remember, Dad?
01:06:53 By the time I was 11,
01:06:56 I painted the entire exterior of the house.
01:07:00 Twice.
01:07:02 Therapy, you called it.
01:07:05 Why, Dad, what for?
01:07:07 I was 10.
01:07:09 You say it was more like abuse.
01:07:11 No, Mother, I'm not being too tough on him.
01:07:14 If he had listened to me in the first place,
01:07:16 everything would be fine.
01:07:18 I mean, look around you.
01:07:20 This system works perfectly.
01:07:22 I mean, helping them out is maybe a little odd,
01:07:25 but you know what?
01:07:27 Those humans, they have to raise them like animals.
01:07:29 They don't know what they're missing.
01:07:31 They're just like cows back in the day.
01:07:33 They got a roof over their heads, they eat,
01:07:35 they have sex all the time,
01:07:38 but me, I can't even piss in the woods
01:07:39 without worrying about some pusshead
01:07:41 jumping all over my ass.
01:07:43 Now look.
01:07:47 Damn it.
01:07:50 All right, that's it, I'm done.
01:07:54 I can't do this anymore.
01:07:56 I needed to bring you here.
01:07:58 I needed to find out if there was anything left inside.
01:08:00 Something.
01:08:02 But you know what?
01:08:04 There's nothing, absolutely nothing.
01:08:07 Nada.
01:08:08 And so,
01:08:10 mother dear,
01:08:12 father,
01:08:15 ladies first.
01:08:23 You should have listened to me, Dad.
01:08:26 So, what's the girl look like?
01:08:33 Probably the best looking girl you'll ever see.
01:08:36 Really?
01:08:37 To me.
01:08:39 Okay, I'll take your word for it.
01:08:41 Star!
01:08:44 Star!
01:08:47 Damn it.
01:08:50 Damn it.
01:08:51 You were right, Cap.
01:09:12 There's a town just a few miles down this road.
01:09:14 This farm was started and supplied by them.
01:09:19 Are you sure?
01:09:20 He's from there.
01:09:22 It's true, man.
01:09:24 Okay.
01:09:26 So what do we do about it?
01:09:28 I say we pay them a visit.
01:09:30 I say sounds like a plan.
01:09:32 Something I can do for you, darling.
01:09:48 Well, I was hoping to get through here.
01:09:50 Think that's possible?
01:09:52 Where'd you come from, sweetheart?
01:09:54 There's nothing but zombies out there.
01:09:56 Oh, there's lots of people out there.
01:09:58 Lots of them.
01:10:00 Like me.
01:10:02 Like you.
01:10:04 Well, not exactly like me.
01:10:06 Know what I mean?
01:10:09 I know exactly what you mean.
01:10:11 So what do you say, boys?
01:10:13 You gonna let me pass?
01:10:17 Come on.
01:10:18 I really need to get through here.
01:10:20 It's a matter of life or death.
01:10:22 Whose life or death?
01:10:24 Very possibly yours.
01:10:26 Sorry, boys.
01:10:41 But we're going through.
01:10:43 If you want to live,
01:10:46 you come back.
01:10:47 Got it, darling?
01:10:49 Star!
01:11:05 Star!
01:11:09 Hey, man, we've been at this for a couple hours.
01:11:13 Don't you think we ought to go back--
01:11:15 Okay, okay.
01:11:16 I was just thinking out loud.
01:11:18 Star?
01:11:22 Star!
01:11:28 Star!
01:11:30 Star, is that you?
01:11:33 (Zombie growling)
