00:58 Good morning, Ma'am BD Bro Brian. Welcome to Rise and Shine Philippines.
01:07 Good morning. Welcome back.
01:09 Hi. You know I have to say a few things.
01:12 First of all, let me say good morning to all of you.
01:15 And I hope you're having breakfast or whatever it is that you do at this hour.
01:20 What I must say is look at all those lights.
01:24 And the air condition is so cool.
01:27 The changes are big.
01:29 Yes.
01:30 Improvement.
01:31 Quite a bit.
01:32 Well, Ma'am, I reached you when I started here at PPV.
01:36 But how do you feel after so many years that you visited the studio of your favorite network
01:45 as the host of Good Morning Manila.
01:48 What are your feelings and observations this morning?
01:52 Lots of lights.
01:54 Really cold.
01:55 And I'll tell you one thing.
01:57 One, two, three, four cameras. Wow. Yay!
02:01 Before, we had two.
02:03 And we did well.
02:05 I mean, I have to say.
02:07 But we traveled a lot.
02:08 I don't know if you people traveled.
02:10 But we traveled all over.
02:12 We went to, oh, gosh.
02:15 We even went to Cautabato.
02:16 We went to Cautabato.
02:18 We traveled all over the Philippines.
02:20 Yes.
02:21 But some of the people who are with us in Out of Town are still here.
02:24 Right?
02:25 Yeah.
02:26 Especially Elena M.
02:27 She's still there.
02:28 Actually, even in our generation, we're still with Elena M.
02:33 Yes.
02:34 And well, anyway, let's go back.
02:36 Tell us about the parts of your life.
02:41 Of course, PPV is with you.
02:43 It was in the 1980s when Good Morning Manila first aired.
02:47 Yes.
02:48 But previous to Good Morning Manila, I did, well, the first show I ever did was Dancerama.
02:54 Okay. Wow.
02:55 Yeah.
02:56 Well, Dancerama was the show that I started in television with Peter O'Hua.
03:02 And then they made it into a movie.
03:04 Okay.
03:05 And then I went from Dancerama to The Wow Generation with Manolo Fabis.
03:12 Okay.
03:13 I'm sure you're familiar with him.
03:15 And then from there, I don't remember everything, but I remember we did also, I did a show, I forgot the title, with Silvia La Torre.
03:28 And, you know, I went through.
03:31 Very prominent names that were with you.
03:33 Yes.
03:34 I went through this musical, you know, and then eventually, they thought I could act.
03:40 It's nice, because the format of the shows are not only for news, even for entertainment, for culture.
03:48 Arts.
03:49 Yes, culture and arts.
03:50 That should really be in the minds of people.
03:53 Here, RSP, for those who don't know, do you know that a lot of people say that Good Morning Manila started, or that Morning Shows became popular when Good Morning Manila was created, Fee?
04:05 And then, other private networks started to create Morning Shows.
04:10 Yes, that's true.
04:11 Is this right, Ma'am?
04:12 Correct.
04:13 We were the first one on the air.
04:14 As a matter of fact, this is my dialogue, you can ask.
04:18 Are you sure that someone is watching us?
04:20 Because we were on at 7 in the morning.
04:23 You guys had earlier, huh?
04:25 And I thought, wow, who, you know, but anyway, Viz and Ed and everybody in here, in PTB4, we're all gung-ho.
04:34 We're going to do a Morning Show.
04:35 Okay, fine.
04:36 So, we had Mang Louie, and then we had Malumag Lutak, do I remember?
04:42 Alan came later.
04:44 I did another show for four with Alan.
04:46 Oh, Malulim.
04:47 Yes.
04:48 Then, we also had, gee, I forget the other hosts, but there were segments.
04:55 We were not five hosts like you are here now, you're four or five, no?
04:59 We had what they call, the whole studio was divided into segments.
05:04 Okay, so each segment will have its own production design.
05:07 Yes, and own set.
05:08 Okay.
05:09 So, I'd turn over to them and turn over.
05:11 My set was there, or you can see it on the TV, but it's the smallest actually because I'm alone there.
05:17 My job is to say good morning and good bye and introduce the different segments.
05:24 Well, we want to know also, Mam Baby, what was your most memorable experience when you were here at PTV?
05:33 Well, I would say memorable is everything.
05:37 Everything.
05:38 Yeah, well.
05:39 But one specific scenario that happened here at PTV that you wouldn't even forget in your life.
05:44 Actually, none.
05:46 I remember everything in PTV.
05:48 The most I remember is that we only had not as many lights as these and two cameras, and we would really gung-ho.
05:56 I mean, we would say, "Sige, kaya natin yan. Sige, kaya natin yan."
06:00 So, we did a morning show every day with not as much, well, you guys are really wow.
06:08 You know, when I walked in, I said, "Wow."
06:11 Anyway, but it was fun, and I will never forget the fact that I worked with so many nice people, really good people, and that I traveled the Philippines.
06:24 I went to as far as Cotabato.
06:27 You're like a work-in-leisure. You're enjoying your work.
06:30 You know, when you go out of town, the fact is it's so much nicer than Manila.
06:35 First of all, there's traffic, right? There are people, there's food, there's entertainment.
06:42 It's fun.
06:43 You encounter different walks of life.
06:45 Yes, it's really fun.
06:47 And, well, fun and hardship because you'll sleep for five hours, max.
06:54 Yes.
06:55 Because you're taping and taping and taping. It's a waste of time.
06:58 Until you get used to your body clock, you're really waking up in the morning.
07:02 Yes, that's right.
07:03 Spot all the stress.
07:04 As a last question, do you have a message for PTV, especially now that it's the 50th anniversary of Television ng Bayan?
07:14 Wow, we were put here on May 50. I'm not 50, okay? Just them.
07:20 [Laughs]
07:21 No, I'm joking.
07:22 Of course, I always wish Channel 4 where I came from, and I guess I stayed the longest.
07:29 The best of luck and more power and bigger studios and, well, I can't say more lights because there's so many lights already.
07:39 But, hey, gang, let's go.
07:42 There.
07:43 We're here again with Ma'am Baby O'Brien, a great honor to be with you this morning.
07:49 Thank you so much and stay safe.
07:51 You too.
07:52 Thank you so much, Ma'am Baby.
