00:00 I think that's what really set the tone for us.
00:02 We had lead off hits in the first inning and my defense,
00:05 the energy behind me was awesome and the fans, insane.
00:08 >> As far as your pitches, what was working well?
00:12 >> I would say Ross.
00:14 >> That seventh inning, you had to battle once again,
00:16 you have a short and seconds, a tough seventh inning,
00:18 it's a tough seventh inning.
00:19 How do you just gain enough energy to just push through that and finish?
00:22 >> I like to tell myself a lot to keep it simple and so I kind of feed off of that.
00:26 And working with Marley, I tell her every inning it's me and her and
00:30 I trust my defense and we kind of had a lot of talk between each other and so
00:34 that's what makes it so easy.
00:36 >> What was it like finally getting to pitch at Rose in an Alabama game?
00:40 >> It's surreal, I've never gotten to play in this kind of environment and
00:44 finally reaching this goal is just a dream come true.
00:47 And these fans are awesome and there's truly not an environment like this one.
00:51 >> Have you ever played right field before?
00:54 >> I have played right field a few times.
00:56 It's my freshman year at Michigan and it hasn't been for four years.
00:59 So yeah, it was an experience out there.
01:01 I loved it though.
01:02 So yeah.
01:04 >> Can you talk about that first inning home run you had in this game?
01:08 >> I feel like I was just looking for a good pitch to drive.
01:10 I was just trying to provide our team some runs early in the game and
01:14 I knew that Jenna was on base.
01:15 I need to get her in and whatever that was gonna take, I was gonna try and do.
01:18 And thankfully, it just went over today, so yeah.
01:21 >> Do you remember what you hit?
01:22 >> The pitch?
01:24 >> Yeah.
01:25 >> No, I think it was all ball on all plate.
01:28 It looked really good to me, so I just took a good hack at it.
01:30 >> How good did it feel to get that first home run in Alabama uniform?
01:33 >> So good.
01:34 I didn't really watch it and I was like, I just hope it's a gap shot and
01:38 it went over.
01:38 So it was really exciting to celebrate with my teammates.
01:41 >> It was pretty cool to drop me on the bases.
01:42 >> Yes, super cool.
01:44 I hope to have some more, so.
01:45 [LAUGH] >> Yeah.
01:46 >> What's kind of been working for you at the plate to start the season so far?
01:49 >> One thing that's really helped me a lot is we've been practicing visualization and
01:54 I feel like getting into that zone mentally a couple batters before my at bat has
01:58 really helped me get into that mental space of just calm and being present and
02:02 taking the at bat pitch by pitch and not really worrying about the results.
02:04 So I feel like that's what's really helped me.
02:06 >> Was it kind of a different perspective for you tonight on right field watching
02:09 Beaver work tonight in the circle?
02:10 >> Yeah, it was awesome because I knew that she was just gonna deal and
02:13 she really did.
02:14 And she has all of our backs as hitters.
02:15 I know that we didn't put up a ton of runs that game for her and
02:18 she just, she kept working for us, so yeah.
02:22 >> What's your favorite position?
02:25 >> I love to pitch and I love to play first base really,
02:28 I guess anywhere on the right side.
02:30 Outfield's pretty fun, but I'm very comfortable at first base.
02:33 I love it there, I really do.
