A big player but is he depended on too much?
Transcript
00:00 Well, just on Abdoulaye Decoray, their top scorer this season, and you know, we have
00:06 spoke about Calvert-Lewin trying to ingrain himself back into the goals. How much do they
00:11 rely on Decoray coming from that midfield position and, you know, all that 10-roll and
00:16 scoring big goals for them? And is it a bit of an over-reliance, do you feel?
00:20 Yeah, I mean, the facts don't lie, do they? When Everton don't have Decoray, the Arnhems
00:26 could decide, they don't threaten as much, and I think he's been missing 10 of the past
00:30 11 games. He came back briefly and then suffered another hamstring injury on his, you know,
00:36 his alternative leg, beg your pardon, there. So, Sean's ice squad would probably look at
00:42 this and think, can I throw him straight back into the deep end again? Because he's already
00:46 broken down once and have brought him straight back into the team. But Everton need results
00:51 and can they risk not having him? Because he's a unique player to Decoray, there probably
00:55 aren't many players like him in the Premier League, just his run of power and, you know,
01:01 his tenacity, he brings... he's difficult to mark, just because he's not a midfielder,
01:07 he's not a centre midfielder, he's not a striker, but he's not your quintessential number 10
01:12 that, you know, links midfield and attack up and is at the nucleus of everything. He's
01:18 not like that. But Everton, they like to play on the counter-attack and that's why, when
01:25 you can get him with the ball, it's difficult to force really. He's had a couple of combinations,
01:31 I think Jack Harrison's probably done the best, but he's a different player, he's a
01:35 little bit jinkier, more technical, but probably better out wide. Arnold Van Duur has a goal,
01:42 he hasn't really done an intent for me and he's injured for the next couple of weeks
01:46 anyway. Who's the other options Everton could bring in? Maybe try Lewis Dobbin there, has
01:51 he got the experience? The only way you get experience by playing him, he's done okay
01:54 off the bench, Dobbin, but yeah, and Beto, when he's played Calvert-Lewin and Beto, it
02:00 hasn't worked and Beto's still... I feel for him because he struggles to get momentum,
02:06 but he is raw and Sean Dyche wants to keep him raw, but when do you get to the point
02:11 where you think, well, surely he needs to hone a couple of things about his game rather
02:15 than being this player that comes off the bench and is a bit of a, you know, a bit of
02:22 a bull in the china shop really, which sometimes it can work, but you get found out quickly
02:27 in the Premier League, it'll catch up on you sooner rather than later. So, no, to call
02:32 out Bach on the grass, as Sean Dyche said, but it's a case of where he is in his recovery
02:38 this week and as I say, Everton won't want him breaking down again because if the Ars
02:43 are getting any points back and the Ars are maybe getting even more points deducted from
02:47 them, then they are in a dogfight and they're going to need everyone available and the better
02:51 twice.
