Patrick Murphy talks about changes in Brickyard

Alabama softball has a new seating option in the Brickyard in right field.

00:01 >> Those were TV stands for the brickyard people because they couldn't see the

00:05 scoreboard and they were indoor outdoor TVs, but they're gonna cut those stands

00:09 down and there's eight by ten plots.

00:13 I don't know what we're gonna call it, but

00:15 this year is gonna be first come first serve.

00:18 So if you wanna come with seven family members and you wanna sit there,

00:22 you bring eight lawn chairs.

00:24 And literally, it's right on the field behind obviously the warning track.

00:29 Petco Park in San Diego, that's where I got the idea.

00:33 I recruited out there a couple summers ago and

00:36 they have it almost half the fence is see through with no pad.

00:41 And they have this gigantic sandbox for kids and

00:45 then they have chairs everywhere in the outfield beyond.

00:49 And it's just like this family atmosphere and it's a party and

00:52 I really thought it'd be a cool idea and it's not gonna restrict any brickyard.

00:58 I are seeing because it's below them, so it won't be in their sightline.

01:05 So we'll see how it goes and hopefully there'll be some people out there.
