The sun returns to the Southeast, snow continues in the North and the break from bad weather ends in the Southwest.

00:00 big change coming up to brighten up your next couple of days of sunshine
00:03 making a return. Absolutely. We're gonna go to the southeast here for the
00:07 first of our big three storms gone, but the sun is back and just in the
00:10 florida state fair is in progress. People had some jackets on today and I
00:14 saw a couple of photos, but we're looking really good on thursday. We're
00:18 looking great out there. High pressure in place, lots of sunshine. So again,
00:21 a little bit of cool start, but we do warm things up quickly toward the
00:23 afternoon and temperatures here all over the place with the exception of
00:28 new Orleans and Jacksonville running above the historical average in Tampa.
00:32 But just a bit. Yeah, Wednesday looks good thursday friday. The next few
00:36 days look fantastic region wide here. High pressure. We're gonna add just a
00:40 few degrees to the thermometer here into florida for thursday. And again,
00:43 a lot of us are in great shape. That's right. Story number two here on the big
00:47 three is going to take us to the next round of snow, a streak of it and a
00:50 streak of snow. This is kind of an interesting storyline. Believe it or
00:54 not, the last day, last calendar day in which we had at least an inch of
00:57 snow in Minneapolis at the airport was Halloween. So this is kind of a spooky
01:01 scarcity of snow here. So far this season, we've had only 7.3 inches.
01:06 Typically by now we have about 33.8 last year. By now we had over 55 inches
01:11 of snow and it was one of our snowiest on record. So it's from one end of the
01:15 spectrum to the other. But you have to go all the way back to the end of
01:18 october to find the last time we had a full inch one day and tonight we're
01:22 not seeing it yet. 30 degrees pretty mild. But here's the streak of snow and
01:25 look at that. Minneapolis is not just in it, but when we get more specific
01:29 with our snowfall forecast numbers, we're gonna be watching this through
01:32 midweek. We are expecting 1 to 3 inches between Wednesday and thursday night is
01:36 mainly a Wednesday Wednesday evening event there in Minneapolis. I just love
01:40 the play on words. You have spooky, spooky, scarcity of snow. It's coming.
01:44 This guy's creative. I love it. Well, we'll see. All right, California, this
01:47 is story number three here on the big three and the breaks about the end.
01:51 We've had a lot of rain over the past couple of weeks. The numbers up here,
01:54 150 to 200% of the historical average. We got hammered over a week ago there
01:59 in southern California. It's been good to have a break while it has lasted dry
02:03 weather for now, but that's gonna change by the time we get toward
02:07 Wednesday night and also thursday, we're gonna see one of several waves
02:10 begin to impact central and northern parts of the state. Southern
02:13 California early next week, we're gonna be watching your area and this is
02:16 gonna cost some travel delays and some difficulties. And this first round is
02:19 coming in quick for late Wednesday, but then a bigger round rolls in
02:23 beginning this weekend. So here we are, February 18th to the 20th and you run
02:27 the numbers. We're looking at what this weekend into early next week. That's
02:30 right. A renewed flooding possible. We're gonna be talking about some more
02:33 heavy snow coming up into the Sierra where those numbers will be boosted
02:36 back up. Good news here for the ski resorts. And as we look coast to coast,
02:40 we'll also have that potential here for some tricky travel and some wet
02:43 weather along the gulf coast. All right, lots going on out there, Melissa, as we
02:47 begin the cleanup from this pretty hard hit of snow for some amazing 15 inches
02:51 there in Connecticut.
02:52 That's right.
