00:00 Hello, I'm Jodie. Lovely to meet you.
00:02 - Lovely to meet you. I knew this was going to happen.
00:04 I'm going to be honest with you, I don't really get starstruck, but I'm starstruck right now.
00:08 - Are you?
00:09 Because you're a legend.
00:10 - I'm a legend, there's no doubt about it.
00:12 You're such a legend. Honestly, it's so nice to see you.
00:16 - Thank you.
00:17 It's amazing that you're here. I mean, you're blinding us with all the glitter. Glitz and glam. Is this just you?
00:22 - At this age, you need to do something. You know, I can't wear those tight frocks and reveal everything.
00:27 - It's so great to have you here. Is it the TV Choice Awards?
00:30 - Well, you see, the point is I've got a new manager and new agent, and he said,
00:34 "I was going to New York today and I was delayed and changed until tomorrow."
00:38 So he said, "Are you free tonight?" And I said, "Sadly, yes, I am."
00:42 He said, "Well, I think they would like you to come along if you would."
00:46 He said, "When I said that you were around, the production team said, 'Well, would you come and do?'"
00:50 So, here I am.
00:52 - It was for me. They brought you here for me. That's what it was.
00:54 - Just for you.
00:55 - And you were just in a film with Diane Keaton. How was that? You were brilliant.
00:58 - Well, I mean, it was kind of, I don't know, it was kind of an amazing thing at my age
01:05 to be able to sort of work with serious actresses like Diane Keaton, like Patricia Hodge.
01:12 So when you work with people like that, even though I've studied very hard for the last seven years
01:17 with an acting coach, I think when you work with great people, you kind of have to rise.
01:24 - Yes.
01:25 - And it was, I think you hopefully, it hopefully rubs off, you know.
01:28 But we all got along so well, and we worked very hard. I worked very hard on my character.
01:33 I just loved it.
01:35 - Oh, you held your own on more?
01:37 - On more.
01:38 - Now, listen, you're saying about the tour, you--
01:40 - But what about how funny it wasn't that the character was not Scottish when I got the script.
01:44 - Aye.
01:45 - She was going to have to talk like that, you know. And I said, "Well, what about it if I change?"
01:50 Anyway, it all changed, and I became Scottish.
01:54 And then Brian Cox asked me to do a little radio show with him.
01:59 - Hey!
02:00 - Yeah, and Scottish again. So I sort of feel Scottish thing. It's like my roots are taking over.
02:09 You know what--
02:10 - It never leaves you. It never leaves you.
02:12 - Well, it never leaves you, but somehow it's very prevalent right now that I find myself playing parts where I'm Scottish.
02:19 - And we love to see that. Well, your manager was saying the opening night's going to be in Glasgow.
02:25 - Yes!
02:26 - Are you looking forward to it?
02:27 - Yes!
02:28 - Honestly, I need to be there.
02:29 - You have to be there. Oh, and I've got a very excited guest.
02:32 - How cute! Is it going to be epic? How does it feel for you when you go back to Glasgow?
02:36 - Well, it's as weird as it seems. I do say I'm going home.
02:43 - Yeah.
02:44 - And I've not lived there for 60 years, but--
02:46 - It's heady.
02:48 - It's--you know, when anyone ever says, "Oh, you're English?" And I go, "No, I'm not. Oh, no."
02:54 It's that your roots stay with you. And I'm so proud to be--to say that I'm Scottish. I don't know.
03:04 - And we're proud to claim you, honestly. So you don't want to do another tour, but you are doing other concerts, right?
03:08 There's more concerts coming up.
03:10 - Well, there's no concerts right now. I'm going to go into the studio and start an album as soon as the tour is finished, yeah.
03:15 - Right.
03:16 - So I've got some interesting people working on that with me.
03:18 - So another album? Oh, you're spoiling us. And a documentary? Is that still in the works?
03:22 - Well, they're talking about it. So--
03:24 - What about a biopic? When are we getting the Lulu biopic?
03:27 - I don't know. Maybe that'll be next year.
03:29 - Who would play you, though? Who would you want?
03:31 - Oh, my God. That's a really difficult question. I mean, it's difficult to answer.
03:37 - I'll do it.
03:38 - You could play me, no problem. They've trouble with the accent anyway.
03:42 - I mean, there's definitely better people out there, but--
03:44 - Well, you know who would be great at the accent, because I think she's my favourite at the moment, is Saoirse Ronan.
03:48 - Yes!
03:49 - Saoirse Ronan is my favourite, and she can do any accent, but she's a wee bit sssss. She's got that tiny wee face.
03:54 - But she would be brilliant as well.
03:56 - She'd kill it! She kills everything. I mean, I'm going to say kill it. She'll nail it. She'll be brilliant.
04:00 - I'll get my ability to pull hard people, and we'll get this on--
04:03 - Saoirse. Saoirse will be on.
04:05 - Listen, you're an absolute legend. It's such an honour to meet you.
04:08 - Thank you, darling.
