Saoirse Ronan realised on the red carpet that she forgot to text Paul Mescal before he made his debut on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. 00:11I feel like, we already feel like we've had so much success, anything would just be a

00:16bonus at this stage, right?

00:18Yeah, it's kind of daft to be here. You know, it's a film that we loved making, that we

00:24read as a book and we had no idea that it could come to something like this. So I know

00:29people say it all the time, but it's genuinely just bizarre.

00:32What's your favourite reaction to the film being so far? It's been getting some fantastic

00:36reviews and their responses, but has there been any response that's really ticked with

00:40you, that's really stuck with you?

00:42I think because of the issues that are involved in the film is that anybody who's in recovery

00:48or going through the same thing is, obviously it's a wonderful tool to help encourage people,

00:54film, the arts, into discovering recovery, but people who are already in recovery, it

01:01sort of acts as a wonderful message of perseverance, but also of celebration of people who have

01:08managed five, ten, twenty years, which I think people forget quite quickly. So that's been

01:14our favourite reaction.

01:16Finally for me, I was thinking about you this morning because I was watching Paul on SNL

01:20last night.

01:21Oh, it was last night? Oh no, I should have texted him. Oh, was it great?

01:25He was fantastic and he pulled on the Irish again, which I really appreciate when you

01:29host it as well. Is it something you want to go back to? Or is it one and done?

01:33Yes, I would love to do it again. I'd love to do it again because now I know what to

01:37expect and I prepped him. I mentally prepared him for it ahead of time because it's very

01:43full on. The week that I did it, I just didn't talk to you at all.

01:47No, not at all.

01:48You're sort of just in this cave of SNL madness. It was great, so I'm sure he'll have done

01:54an amazing job.
