Recalling Joe Kapp and Marshawn Lynch in the big game
Transcript
00:00 I remember the Super Bowls of a lot of Cal players who were starters at skill positions.
00:06 Those are the ones that show up, you don't remember the linemen so much.
00:10 But I remember Joe Kapp and the Super Bowl against the Chiefs, he really struggled.
00:16 They were supposed to win by two touchdowns because the AFL was still considered a weak link relative to the NFL.
00:26 But the Chiefs dominated that game, that was the last game of the NFL-AFL matchup.
00:32 The league merged after that.
00:36 And then I remember Roger's game, a really strong game.
00:40 It wasn't the Packers' best team by any means, or his best team by any means.
00:44 They were the sixth seed and they won some games and they went all the way to the Super Bowl and played well in the Super Bowl.
00:51 And beat the Steelers.
00:54 And then I remember, of course, the Seattle game that they lost when they made that ridiculous call for Russell Wilson to pass the ball on a second down from the one-yard line with 26 seconds to go.
01:08 And Seattle had a timeout, so that wasn't really the issue.
01:11 And instead of giving the ball to Marshawn Lynch, who had been just about unstoppable on short-yardage situations, especially near the goal line.
01:20 And they passed the ball and it was intercepted and they lost the game.
01:24 And Tom Brady won another Super Bowl, so that was all part of the issue there.
