00:18 So when you're in the songwriting process, do you come from a place of melody?

00:25 Like what is the first thing you think of when you sit down to write a song?
00:27 There's so many different ways it comes about, but typically I'm a piano player, so there'll
00:32 be some melody that I'll wake up in the middle of the night with, usually a vocal melody,
00:36 and then I'll run to the piano and score it with some music, and then once I have the
00:41 song, I'll take it into the studio and kind of flesh it out.
00:44 And lastly, with Grammy week and in the throes of Grammy week right now, what is it do you
00:49 think about all these parties that keeps LA, you know, alive this week?
00:53 Oh man.
00:54 Well, I am kind of a homebody, so I have been physically kicking my own butt to get
01:01 out here and do it because I have a record coming out.
01:04 But once I get to the thing, I'm always stoked I can.
01:07 I love that.
01:08 And what can you tell fans about the new record?
01:11 It's my first full-length record.
01:13 I'm so excited about it.
01:14 It has a lot of really cool features, and the first single comes out on February 9th,
01:20 featuring Kelsey Carter and Nuno Betancourt.
