00:17 50 years, but I've been doing it 52, but 50 years, you know, I can remember doing this as a child in a park,
00:24 and just doing it for recreation, and never in my wildest dreams that my techniques would bring the rapper into the culture,
00:34 never did I ever think that it would turn a DJ into a juggernaut,
00:38 never in my wildest dreams that it would turn the seamless loop into samples for the producers to produce the great music that they did.
00:47 I'm totally speechless, because never in my wildest dreams did I think, as a kid in a park in the Bronx, that I would be here.
00:57 And we all thank you for it, because you paved the way for some major artists.

01:02 Where would you like to see, from the past to the future, where would you like to see hip-hop go from here?
01:06 You know, that's a hard thing to say, because hip-hop has many tentacles,
01:10 and it's touched so many people, and it's on so many places on planet Earth,
01:15 I just want to hope that it can just keep growing, keep growing, wherever that might be,
01:20 because we did it from nothing, so it needs to just continue to just grow, that's all I can hope for.
01:26 I also love that women in hip-hop are having a major, major moment.

01:31 Is there something you have your eyes on right now?
01:33 I love it, I think that for a long time I was wondering why hadn't there been so many, you know, so many female rappers in the beginning,
01:41 but here we are, finally, finally, I'm super happy about that, I am.
