00:00 Firefighters are still worried about this bushfire though.
00:05 That's because of its proximity to some homes here in Bulls Brook and then also it's right
00:10 next to Bulls Brook College here.
00:12 The fire started early this afternoon in some bush just behind the college and that was
00:17 quickly evacuated with hundreds of students and staff having to leave the school with
00:23 parents having to come pick up some of the children.
00:26 We spoke to one family just a little while ago.
00:30 There's a few neighbours that aren't home and aren't able to get home so we've got plans
00:36 in place to get their animals but other than that it's just pretty much waiting and seeing
00:41 whether or not we get told we have to leave and then we'll just leave in that case.
00:45 The box of all of our important documents and we've got water bottles already in the
00:49 fridge so it will just be taking that and just heading off.
00:52 So that family there picking up their three daughters.
00:56 You might be able to hear the helicopters above me.
00:59 There's at least seven aircraft that have been deployed to this bushfire as well as
01:04 more than 15 firefighting appliances as they try and get on top of it really quickly.
01:09 There's a heatwave on its way to Perth which isn't making things any easier for firefighters
01:15 but they are grateful that that weather system's not coming with extreme winds or any dry lightning
01:21 that might have otherwise created catastrophic fire conditions.
