00:00 Hi Harper's Bazaar, I'm Coco Jones.
00:03 Are you ready to go to bed with me?
00:05 (upbeat music)
00:07 My nighttime routine is normally very simple
00:12 and straight to the point,
00:13 typically because I'm so tired by the end of the workday
00:16 that I'm like, let's get these ingredients
00:18 and get their purpose and go to sleep.
00:21 My first product is to remove this cute glam.
00:25 This is the Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover Balm.
00:29 So basically I just use my acrylic nail
00:33 or whatever type of nail I have that's long and pointy.
00:36 I'm gonna start with these lashes and all of this eyeliner
00:39 just in case my eyes get a little sensitive
00:41 from all the products.
00:43 I kind of just like feel around
00:45 and put some of the balm on the lash glue.
00:48 'Cause you know when you take your lashes off sometimes
00:50 and you're literally fighting for your life.
00:52 Oof, that was a little gory there, sorry.
00:55 Also look at the difference, hi.
00:59 So yeah, I'm just basically loosening up that glue
01:03 so that I don't lose any of my natural lashes
01:06 'cause I really love them.
01:07 Sorry guys, this is so like, yikes.
01:10 Okay, next I'm gonna work on the eyeshadow.
01:14 Basically just massaging this over my eyelids,
01:18 loosening up the product
01:20 and I definitely should have clipped my hair back
01:21 but here we are.
01:22 This is kind of where I feel like the emoji that cries
01:27 but you know, moving on.
01:29 Just gonna wipe this off.
01:30 It's a really powerful balm, you know.
01:32 This eyeliner is extremely, extremely heavy
01:35 so I like products that don't dry me out
01:38 while they're removing whatever makeup I had on
01:40 during the day and I find that this cleansing balm
01:43 really does the job there.
01:45 I want to also clip my hair because realistically,
01:48 I'm not trying to restraighten my hair after this.
01:51 The goal is remove the makeup and keep the hair away
01:56 so that that way tomorrow, I have less to do.
02:00 Okay, let me just remove the rest of my foundation
02:05 and whatever's left under the eyes
02:08 and we can move on to step two.
02:09 Okay, we're almost done here.
02:13 Next we're gonna move on to face wash.
02:16 So one of my go-to face washes is the Inkey List
02:19 and this is the salicylic acid in 2%.
02:23 I've learned from my dermatologist
02:24 that it really doesn't take all of those fancy,
02:26 glamorous products or a DIY.
02:29 It really just takes good ingredients
02:31 that have been working all of their lives.
02:33 I don't know how old salicylic acid is
02:35 but anyway, we like her.
02:37 I'm just gonna take a decent size amount
02:39 and foam that up with some water.
02:42 Okay, so initially as a teen, didn't struggle with any acne.
02:49 It was really more when I got into like my early 20s
02:51 that I started dealing with acne and definitely dark marks.
02:56 I respect you guys, but God, you're annoying.
02:59 So I tried a lot of DIYs at that time.
03:03 YouTube was my favorite and I was learning
03:05 all of these things and how to craft
03:07 all of these concoctions.
03:08 Ended up burning my skin and basically,
03:11 I fell in love with aloe vera
03:13 'cause then it was like a healing agent.
03:14 But really what I realized is that
03:16 all of those products are like really cute and fun
03:19 and sometimes it's nice to make like
03:20 a little DIY oatmeal mask or a cucumber,
03:23 put the cucumbers over your eyes like you're at the spa.
03:25 But really, you need a dermatologist.
03:27 You need a professional who does this
03:29 to tell you what's going on.
03:30 That's what really helped me.
03:32 Still some eyeliner there.
03:33 We're gonna get rid of that.
03:35 I love Urban Skin RX.
03:38 So this is their Balancing Witch Hazel toner
03:43 and I like it because it's not like too intense.
03:45 So I just go all around the face with this toner.
03:47 I don't really like go under my eyes too much
03:49 'cause I know that's the most sensitive part of your skin.
03:52 And then let that dry a little bit.
03:54 Next I'm gonna go into my serums
03:59 and this is one of my favorite, The Ordinary.
04:02 I love their niacinamide and zinc serum.
04:04 I think it's just good for all over balancing,
04:07 toning and a lot of really good properties.
04:09 And I also just love the way it feels on my skin.
04:12 I like it.
04:13 It feels like a layer of like protection.
04:15 Just gonna add a couple droplets there.
04:17 One in between the round.
04:19 Sometimes I'm so tired and I'm ready to go
04:21 so I just put both of my serums in different places
04:23 and just mix them and I feel very science.
04:26 But I'm not gonna do that for you guys.
04:27 I'm gonna be patient.
04:28 Tonight is about patience and steps.
04:32 Next I'm gonna go in with this salicylic acid serum.
04:37 Not a lot though because it was already in my face wash
04:39 but just a little extra
04:40 to keep these products fighting on my behalf.
04:42 There we go, just one drop.
04:45 And we'll mix it.
04:47 (upbeat music)
04:50 Sometimes I like tap it in.
04:51 Like I pretend I just like did the shave
04:52 and then I'm like, ah, it burns.
04:54 Doesn't burn.
04:56 This is the Fade Topicals Brightening and Clearing Serum.
05:00 It has a lot of really good ingredients
05:02 that I feel like they're subtle
05:04 so they won't like make your skin freak out
05:07 because they're too powerful
05:08 for what's going on at the time.
05:10 They like work slow and steady.
05:11 So I really like this for spot treating.
05:13 For example, like if I have dark spots,
05:16 I would just like tap it on my dark spots
05:21 and not my entire face and just, you know,
05:24 let them do what they do while I go slumber.
05:27 So we're moving on.
05:33 We've done all of our powerful, intentional ingredients
05:36 and now it's time for that final layer
05:39 which to me is moisturizer.
05:41 Very important.
05:42 I don't want your skin to be dry, suffering
05:45 and needing some oxygen.
05:46 This is a really good moisturizer.
05:48 This is the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream.
05:51 I love it.
05:52 It's light but it also really does hold weight
05:54 and make you feel very refreshed and hydrated.
05:57 Plus it's purple and purple's my favorite color.
06:04 So I'm just gonna do doop doop doop.
06:07 Sometimes I like to pretend that I'm my own masseuse
06:12 and I'm just like, oh my gosh,
06:14 you're doing wonderful lady with this facial.
06:16 Thank you.
06:17 And this smells so good.
06:18 I swear I'm at the spa.
06:20 Okay, we're almost done.
06:23 Oh, you know you can take the rest and put it down here.
06:25 You know, I know I'm all right.
06:27 Last thing, Laneige This Lip Glowy Balm,
06:31 chef's kiss.
06:33 And this is a go-to.
06:34 Whether you're going to sleep, whether you're waking up,
06:36 whether you're just vibing, hanging out,
06:39 please use your chapstick guys.
06:41 Come on, no crusty lips.
06:43 It's 2024.
06:45 This is one of my favorite chapsticks.
06:47 This is the peach one.
06:48 I have a couple of different flavors.
06:50 But I just do a thick layer of this
06:52 'cause I know it's giving good night
06:54 and I really want this product to settle in.
06:56 Give me something I can feel.
06:58 That's my routine.
07:05 And now I sleep.
07:06 And I love to sleep.
07:08 I love my bed.
07:10 Yeah.
07:12 Stay tuned for my debut album.
07:14 I'm going to bed.
07:15 Good night.
