00:10 Welcome to Minor to Major 16 Edition Rehearsal!
00:14 One thing that makes this project really exciting is we are one of the first people in the UK to perform 16 Edition.
00:21 It is definitely one of a kind. Minor to Major is putting on a production of 16 Edition.
00:28 Six, this is a teen version of Six, which has been adapted slightly for a younger audience and younger cast.
00:35 This is our first big scale production of doing something like this, and so we've got our six queens.
00:42 We've also got six dancers and we've got six students as part of the production team as well.
00:48 The teenagers who have been cast have the opportunity to work with some industry professionals.
00:56 Let's chat to them to find out what this experience has been like.
01:01 I saw this on Instagram and I just thought, "Oh, I'll just audition. I'm not going to think too much of it."
01:08 You can't expect to get all the parts that you want, but I got the part and I was so happy. I did not expect it. I was so happy.
01:18 Oh, it's just amazing. It's really cheesy, but it's like we're all a family.
01:23 Every week I look forward to coming here and it's so fun to see the show coming together now.
01:30 From production to stage management, the majority of the show is put on by teenagers themselves,
01:37 giving them first-hand experience in what working in the industry is like.
01:43 Everything that Gabby, the choreographer, has given them, they've taken it and they've ran with it and just brilliant.
01:50 That is what makes our six-teen edition quite different from what other people might do.
01:58 I don't know if anyone else will come up with that same idea, but it just makes our show very different.
02:04 We are the ladies-in-waiting for the queens, so we're like the backing dancers, supporting them.
02:11 Then we have our individual queen, obviously, so we're a lady-in-waiting for a specific queen.
02:16 I think it's quite unique. I don't think these opportunities come that often.
02:21 To be able to gain the experience to do it.
02:24 I think it's quite unique because we've got the opportunity to bring in a lot of outside people,
02:29 so it's not just the three of us as a creative team doing all the work.
02:33 We've got other people coming in to do stuff with them.
02:35 I think it's such an amazing opportunity to have not only just the three of us, me, Manzi and Will, who are with them all the time.
02:41 We're bringing in so many people for them to work with.
02:43 We've got one of the girls who's a super swing and six at the moment coming down,
02:46 so they get to learn from someone who's literally doing what they want to do.
02:49 We've got people coming in to help the people in hair and makeup and costume, who are like professionals in their field.
02:55 So it's not like they're just seeing us three.
02:57 They are seeing so many people and getting all of this knowledge and being able to do amazing things.
