00:18 loved holding it it's amazing were you surprised by how people responded to
00:23 water or did you know it was one of them ones when you were recording I knew it
00:28 was amazing song I did not know it was gonna do this though like it literally
00:33 changed my whole life so never could have expected it yeah and obviously
00:39 you're your presence in the diaspora of African music right now is super
00:43 important and obviously you represent South Africa down obviously we're here
00:48 we hear it in the log drum we hear in the production we even you talked to
00:52 Rolling Stone about the high bow ad-lib that you threw in there but how else is
00:56 South Africa in your world coming to your music literally it's everything
01:01 like even my performances my dancing everything like even these type of
01:07 interviews I'm speaking like how I speak at home I'm not trying to change
01:11 anything you know I just want people to see authentically who I am where I'm
01:16 from experience the culture and the energy that people always love about
01:20 South Africans so yeah so no code switching around here we say it's true
01:25 head to toe down down and then I think in April we've got Coachella coming up

02:05 of a Tyler experience because that's exactly what it is and we're getting
02:09 your debut album it's coming up so what was the inspiration behind naming it
02:14 Tyler because I think that those are some of the most poignant works of
02:18 someone to give that self-titled you know we got the Beyonce self-title we
02:22 got Mary self-title we got Vince Staples self-titled so what was your decision
02:27 behind marking it as this is Tyler this is me I just really wanted my first
02:33 album to be an introduction because I am really new in the game you know even
02:40 though I've been working years I haven't just shown up out of nowhere I've been
02:44 working years but I'm still very new to people and I just wanted my music and my
02:49 first album to be an introduction to Tyler and my sound because it is a new
02:54 fresh one and yeah and I think we're ready for it I think we're ready for it
02:59 so I am so excited I'm so happy for you thank you so much for chatting with us
