00:00 Newcastle United 4, Luton Town 4 here at St James' Park this afternoon. Now is that two
00:06 points dropped or two points gained? I would argue it's two points dropped. Now a lot of
00:12 people might not agree with that given that Newcastle were 4-2 down in this game. But
00:17 yeah, they found the momentum to get back into the game. Harvey Barnes, big impact off
00:24 the bench, he scored to equalise. Kieran Trippier was the one that made it 4-3 from an unbelievable
00:29 assist by Bruno without Ivey's foot. But by the time Newcastle got themselves back to
00:36 4-4, there was around 15 minutes of normal time remaining, plus the 10-minute stoppage
00:40 time for Newcastle to go and find a winner. But unfortunately they couldn't do that and
00:46 I thought the result in midweek against Aston Villa, the 3-1 win, it was a real opportunity
00:52 for Newcastle to back it up here today and they didn't do it. And the home form over
00:58 the last few weeks has been a bit of a concern. You think about the goals, the shipping, they
01:04 conceded three against Nottingham Forest here on Boxing Day, it was then three against Manchester
01:07 City earlier in January and of course four goals today. So reflecting on the defensive
01:18 performance, as I said there, Newcastle very open. A player that had a really tough afternoon,
01:24 I don't like saying it, was Dan Byrne. For minute one he couldn't live with Luton's pace
01:30 down that side and ultimately ended up conceding a penalty in the second half where Luton made
01:37 it 3-2 and then they quickly made it 4-2 before Dan Byrne was brought off and a lot of fans
01:43 were chatting, 'Teen' was named for Teen Livermore to come on and that's when Newcastle got a
01:49 bit of balance at the back. Of course they were chasing the game so it was easier out
01:51 there to get on top of Luton. It was just a very disappointing afternoon. I don't want
01:58 to highlight Dan Byrne too much because he's been magnificent inside the first football
02:04 club and will bounce back from this but in isolation today he had a bad game. To be fair,
02:10 Newcastle made his performance all over the par, there was a lot of below par performances
02:14 but with that I suppose they have managed to get a point. It could have been worse but
02:19 they certainly should have had three.
