00:17 It would mean he would be two seconds ahead of
00:24 Fischer-Black, four ahead of Le Cerf, five seconds ahead of
00:29 Simon Yates, even with a bonus second, so it's getting a little bit close.
00:34 Le Cerf does up his shoes, 800 metres to go now, as Micah looks around.
00:39 Are they going to catch them right on the line?
00:42 Micah's talking into the radio, telling Fischer-Black to get ready
00:46 because this is the most important sprint of your life.
00:50 Simon Yates is on the wheel, is he going to use his points race capability?
00:55 What a fantastic helicopter shot that is.
00:59 Look at that.
01:01 Simon Yates, Finn Fischer-Black, William Le Cerf, 370 metres to go
01:09 to decide this Alula Tour.
01:12 And now through the heat haze come the leading riders as
01:15 Johannesson tries to catch them.
01:17 Yates hits the front at 200 metres to go, Simon Yates all out as he powers
01:22 his way to try and win this stage and the Alula Tour overall.
01:26 Fischer-Black is challenging, but in the centre, Simon Yates wins
01:30 stage 5 of the Alula Tour.
01:33 And judging by the bonus seconds, will be the winner overall for Jaco Alula.
01:38 How close was that?
01:41 So Yates, congrats at least, that's a stage victory.
01:45 We're still waiting on the results for the GC, but you must be very satisfied
01:49 with that victory because it was pretty hard.
01:51 Yeah, I tried to shake them on the climb to get the GC,
01:54 but I actually didn't have the legs to do it.
01:57 Yeah, I tried to do the sprint in the stage and I managed to pull it off,
02:00 so I'm pretty happy.
02:01 Taking it through that climb actually, I mean, we saw Le Cerf take off,
02:05 you kept your calm, took off when you needed to take off.
02:09 Yeah, it was quite a hard run as well, so I had to really pace myself.
02:15 I tried first as well on the first steep part, but yeah,
02:19 I couldn't really shake anybody.
02:21 So I just had to sort of bide my time until the summit to come back
02:24 to those guys in the front.
02:26 Still early in the season, how do you rate your shape?
02:29 Still some work to do, but of course, much bigger goals in the summer.
02:34 You came here with ambitions, of course this race is important for you
02:38 and for your teams, satisfied I suppose?
02:40 Yeah, yeah, I mean, I think I'm second overall to be honest,
02:45 with a bit of quick math, but I was looking for the overall,
02:48 but still happy with the stage, so yeah, good early part of the year.
02:52 So we have confirmation, we have confirmation.
02:55 You apparently take the GC and victory here, that's what you came for.
03:01 Yes, that's what I'm sure.
03:03 Yeah, I was a bit nervous, I was not sure,
03:05 because I thought Finn was second on the stage, I was not sure.
03:07 Somebody was coming really quickly on my left-hand side in the sprint,
03:11 and I wasn't sure, so yeah, if that's the case, job well done.
03:18 And you do it in front of the boss?
03:20 The boss is here, the owner of the team, in Saudi Arabia, in Al Ula.
03:25 Yeah, I mean, a very important race for us.
03:28 Like I've been saying all week, we've come here for Al Ula,
03:31 now a big partner of ours as well, so yeah, fantastic we've been pulled off.
03:35 Congratulations.
03:36 Thank you.
