00:08 Well, hi, and welcome to another one of Wally's weekend drives.
00:11 Man, I'll tell you what, the weather is broken, it's beautiful out.
00:15 And the only thing more beautiful is Myra Renoso right here.
00:19 And maybe this 2024 LC 500 Hybrid also,
00:23 because the two of them go together well, as you can see, right, Myra?
00:26 >> Yes, we do, it's a beautiful car.
00:28 >> Yeah, yeah, what were you telling me before?
00:29 This was a man, you'd marry it, right?
00:31 >> I would.
00:31 >> [LAUGH] Hey, if it was a woman, I'd marry it too.
00:34 So I definitely feel the passion in this car, and Lexus did a great job.
00:39 So let's check it out.
00:40 First thing you're gonna notice, this thing is low and wide, and
00:43 it handles really, really good.
00:45 And you see the Lexus logo right here?
00:47 That's actually the sonar for the dynamic cruise control that keeps
00:51 everything apart on the freeway and makes you not to run over the guy in front of you.
00:55 Also, if you see the big Lexus grill right here, and that's all fine and dandy.
01:01 But when you look here, triple beam headlights right here.
01:04 Now, triple beam headlights definitely work for sure.
01:07 And they have adaptive lights, so when you're turning in and
01:10 out of your driveway at night, it actually lights the way around the corner.
01:14 So that's a really big deal for me.
01:16 So when you look underneath the hood, what you're gonna find is a hybrid motor and
01:20 a V6 motor in there, making just a little over 300 horsepower combined.
01:26 And it's rolling on 21-inch alloy wheels right here that are wrapped in these
01:31 Michelin Pilot Sport S tires that are Z rated,
01:34 meaning that they will go up to 160 miles an hour.
01:37 We don't recommend that with this car, definitely not on surface streets for
01:41 sure, but it can do it and the tires will stay on.
01:45 Now, Myra, when we walk back here to the side,
01:47 the first thing we notice here is the side mirror, which is electronic and
01:51 folds in also because when I park in the garage at night,
01:54 I need a little bit of extra room so it folds in.
01:57 And you got your blind spot control in it.
01:59 But the cool thing is really, if you look right here, you see aerodynamic wise,
02:04 even the door handle is smooth.
02:06 You press that right there and that's how you get in.
02:09 Now, when you open the door and look in, Myra, this is like your living room.
02:14 Man, I'll tell you, this is nice, huh?
02:16 It's really nice.
02:17 Yeah, that looks nice.
02:18 Okay, so hit the starter button there.
02:21 Let's see what we got.
02:22 Let's light this thing up.
02:24 Okay, so first thing we notice is that smart steering wheel comes right back to
02:27 you, huh?
02:28 It does. So it's gonna give you all your buttons to control the vehicle.
02:32 That way you can focus more on driving and safety.
02:35 Yes, it's important.
02:36 In fact, everything is on the steering wheel.
02:39 And also, if you're in Sport Plus mode, in manual mode,
02:42 you have paddle shifters on both sides to shift the transmission up and down.
02:46 And it is a 10-speed transmission that equates out to that 28.2 miles per gallon
02:52 that I've been getting.
02:53 Yes.
02:54 And the one thing that I really like about it, it's got almost 600 miles of range for
02:58 a fuel tank, and that is unheard of.
03:01 Now, if you're backing out of the driveway,
03:03 one thing that we discovered is that panoramic view around with the camera.
03:07 The 360 panoramic view monitor.
03:09 So it'll give you a view around the entire vehicle so you can take a look.
03:14 That's right.
03:15 So if you're looking to make sure that you don't have any kids' bicycles or
03:19 any toys laying in there or something that you don't wanna run over,
03:22 you definitely can see it.
03:24 Now, let's jump out here and take a look here at the back at the same time.
03:28 Because one of the things that we like, besides the carbon fiber kick panels right
03:33 here on the door sills, those are really great.
03:35 The roof is also carbon fiber.
03:37 Yes.
03:38 It doesn't show up, but you can definitely see it.
03:41 Back here is a spoiler that pops up either manually or
03:44 at speed it pops up when you need it.
03:46 But let's take a look in here real quick because you're gonna see in the back,
03:50 there's not a whole lot of room back here, but I'm guessing there's room for
03:53 two sets of golf clubs right there is what it looks like to me.
03:56 And that's kinda how I measure things.
03:58 If you look here, you'll also see that's where access to the battery is.
04:02 And it doesn't have a spare tire, so you're going to be calling AAA on this for
04:06 sure.
