00:00 >> KJ, you've been through enough Saturday,
00:03 Monday situations to know how it works one way or the other.
00:07 But when you're coming off a loss on Saturday,
00:10 how beneficial is that to get that flush to move on to the next one?
00:14 >> Yeah, of course, this is one of the hardest conferences in the nation.
00:18 So just kinda putting that in the back window, but
00:21 keeping that same edge when we come back to this game.
00:24 And now we got an even bigger game against Houston.
00:27 So just keeping that same next game mentality, don't look too far ahead.
00:30 Just keep looking for the next game, just trying to get that one off.
00:34 >> Mark, I think this is the most minutes in play since conference began.
00:39 How do you like this long run and just help you as the season progresses?
00:44 >> Just getting more comfortable making a game where you practice is one thing, but
00:48 winning the game is another.
00:49 So just finding that comfortability and
00:53 finding what situation to do what and just repetition with that.
00:58 >> And in your role coming off the bench specifically,
01:01 what are the things that the coaches have been coaching you up on or
01:04 harping on they want to see from you in the form?
01:07 >> Mainly just talking in the defense more, just making switches easier.
01:13 I'm in the back layer of defense, talking to everybody to hear me and
01:17 make sure rotations are right, stuff like that.
01:19 And then offensively, just make it easy to play, drive, draw, help, and
01:23 kick to the shooters that we have.
01:25 >> Hey, KJ, you've been through this ground before.
01:28 As you mentioned, Houston Saturday and then K-State Monday.
01:31 What's the keys in this couple games for you guys,
01:33 especially when you might not be 100% healthy?
01:36 >> Just playing tough.
01:37 Those two teams play really hard, really fast.
01:40 They like to get a lot of hardcore wins, just kind of playing harder than
01:45 the opponents, so if we can just play harder than them and defend their drives and
01:50 slow down people like Jamal Shedd, I think we'll have a good chance.
01:53 >> Alberto, what did Kevin tell you before the game?
01:57 >> I just said, you go like this.
02:00 [INAUDIBLE]
02:02 You get the confidence like that, so she catapulted quick.
02:06 >> KJ, what was it like playing without Kevin?
02:10 It had to be not a sad deal.
02:14 >> I wouldn't necessarily say sad, but it was definitely
02:18 something we didn't wanna have on the court.
02:22 But we have guys to step up like Marco and everybody else on the bench,
02:26 ready to play.
02:27 Kevin was just helpful as much as when he's on the court, when he's off,
02:31 cuz he helps people during the game and when we have timeouts.
02:35 So Kevin's a good leader, so he helped us even with not being on the court.
02:39 >> Do you think he'll be back soon, knowing him?
02:41 >> I really don't know his status, hopefully, but we'll see.
02:45 >> Hey, Marco, following on that a little bit, is there a sense of pride of knowing,
02:50 hey, we can let Kevin take a night and rest and hold it down for him?
02:56 >> Yeah, like I said, we have that next man up model that we have.
03:02 So just getting in with the coaches and working on the court,
03:06 and the film room and stuff like that, just makes the transition.
03:11 Kevin's the one that's easier.
03:13 >> And I wanted to ask you too, was that the most comfortable you felt in a while?
03:17 You talked about the comfort, but you looked it tonight.
03:19 >> Yeah, for sure, I was proud of him, yeah.
