00:03 Eight head coaching vacancies following the end of the regular season.
00:07 Six have been filled.
00:09 Raheem Morris is back with the Falcons.
00:11 Frank Reich was fired in the middle of the year.
00:13 Dave Canales, the offensive coordinator from Tampa Bay this past season,
00:19 the new head coach in Charlotte.
00:21 The biggest splash was Jim Harbaugh becoming the new head coach of the Chargers.
00:26 The Titans hire Brian Callahan, the former offensive coordinator in Cincinnati.
00:30 Antonio Pierce, who was the interim head man following Josh McDaniel's dismissal
00:34 before Halloween, is now the permanent head coach in Las Vegas.
00:39 And of course, the Patriots move quickly.
00:41 The succession plan following Bill Belichick to Rod Mayo,
00:44 the new head coach in Foxborough.
00:46 Which one stands out to you the most?
00:49 >> Number one is Jim Harbaugh.
00:50 That's the one you can sell to your fan base.
00:52 They're excited right away and we expect expectations right off the bat.
00:55 Let me just go back to my Philadelphia Eagles fandom for a second here, Ben.
00:58 Doug Peterson was named head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles some years ago, right?
01:02 Looked at that as like the fifth, sixth, seventh choice here.
01:04 Nobody was excited about Doug Peterson coming to town.
01:07 They won a Super Bowl.
01:08 Then they hired Nick Sirianni.
01:09 Nobody was excited about Nick Sirianni coming to Philadelphia.
01:12 But he has had some success.
01:13 So the moral of the story is, I don't like a lot of these names, but
01:16 they still can work out in the favor and have success in their cities.
01:19 But I gotta be honest, if you are some of these football teams,
01:22 like Raheem Morris in Atlanta, Dave Canales for the Carolina Panthers.
01:26 You are seeing one of the single best crops of head coaches coming up this year
01:30 that you could choose to get the excitement back in your franchise.
01:33 And a lot of these teams came away with a Brian Callahan as their coach.
01:37 And again, I'm not saying it can't work out,
01:38 cuz quite frankly it did in Philadelphia.
01:40 But if you wanted to invigorate your fan base and get ready for 2024,
01:44 I think some of these have the real chance to be unbelievable swing and misses.
01:48 And then they can sit back and go, we have the best coach in the history of
01:50 the NFL out there who wanted a job and went with Dave Canales.
01:54 That's what I'm looking at at this point now.
01:56 It's unfathomable.
01:57 It might work out, as I said, Ben.
01:58 But quite frankly,
01:59 a lot of these teams really are putting themselves behind the eight ball right now.
