Some senators may act high and mighty but they still run to "lowly" House of Representatives members for help during election season.   House Deputy Speaker Quezon 2nd district Rep. 00:06 For the past few weeks, the House has been quiet.

00:10 We've respected their opinions and decisions,

00:14 and some of their statements have been very hurtful for a lot of congressmen.

00:21 But as you saw, we accepted their silence, but we won't...

00:30 But I'll admit, it hurt me.

00:33 For example, when some senators said that you can't compare the Senate to the Congress, why not?

00:43 But we're both building a Congress. We're co-equal legislative branch.

00:51 Just because they're elected national, they're higher than us.

00:56 We're being lied to because we're just a district and we represent it.

01:06 And the party lists are too clear, and we can't compare to them.

01:10 If that's wrong, it hurts me. My wife is a party list, I'm a district.

01:16 But of course, I'm not limiting my job and my responsibilities to my local affairs only.

01:24 I look at myself as a national elected official whose scope is also the entire Philippines, not just my district.

01:33 Yes, I may focus 70% of my attention to my district, but also a lot of my attention pertains to what is relevant to the country.

01:42 So please, my dear senators, don't underestimate us.

01:47 Excuse me, but why? When the campaign comes, you're approaching us and asking for help.

01:54 They're just afraid that you'll win.

01:57 Our levels are different.

01:59 We're just Filipinos, we're just God's children.
