00:00The price of some groceries has dropped in families like Camatis, while the price of canned goods, coffee, and milk has fallen.
00:12Bernadette Reyes has a report on the spot. Bernadette?
00:15That's a good news. Because of the monitoring of the DPI and DA today, the price of some groceries has dropped.
00:21As you know, Camatis is now priced at Php360 per kilo.
00:26But the buyers need to be prepared because there is a high price for some of their primary groceries.
00:35In the price monitoring of DPI and DA today, it is noticeable that the price of Camatis has dropped significantly.
00:42Here in Murphy Market, where Php180 per kilo was last year, it is now Php190.
00:49They are also selling solid rice for Php36 per kilo. This is 100 percent broken rice, which is a cheaper alternative for the buyers.
00:58It will be formally launched next week. Aside from this, rice for all can be purchased continuously for Php40 per kilo.
01:05But the price of canned goods, coffee, milk, noodles, and bottled water has dropped significantly.
01:12This month, the DPI and manufacturers will help to discuss this.
01:16The DPI is confident that the price will not exceed 5 percent so it will not affect the buyers.
01:24As far as possible, they will discuss not to increase the price.
01:28Meanwhile, Rafi, on January 20, Php58 will be implemented as the maximum suggested retail price for imported rice.
01:37This means that the price of imported rice should not exceed this, aside from other types of rice, such as Japanese rice, brown rice, and malagke.
01:48Thank you Bernadette Reyes.
