Is Nate Oats still using defensive performance in practice to determine playing time
Transcript
00:00 I think it was after this last game against LSU when you talked about Davin Cosby,
00:03 there was somebody asked you about him getting more minutes,
00:05 and you talked about just guys that are going to work hard at practice.
00:07 Do you feel like at this point, over a third of the way into SEC play,
00:10 it's still rotation minutes are up for whoever's going to play defense and play hard?
00:14 I do actually, and it'd be nice to have a set rotation by this point.
00:18 This isn't the way it's gone with this team.
00:20 I think there's definitely minutes up for grabs, like who plays well.
00:24 You know, our front court, you know, we started the four guards.
00:28 With all the tough front court players that we had in the depth up there,
00:32 you know, to start four guards means it's a lot of competition up in the front court
00:36 as to who's actually going to play.
00:38 So, like, those minutes are for sure up for grabs.
00:40 I think even, you know, with the guards, if we're going to play guards a little bit more,
00:44 like, they're going to have to rest.
00:46 Who else can play in those minutes?
00:48 So, yeah, I think there's some guys that have definitely established themselves
00:52 as some of the better players on this team that are going to play,
00:55 but even them, if they're not playing hard on the defensive end,
00:58 we're not going to leave in the game.
01:00 I mean, they're going to start out playing,
01:02 but we can't leave guys in the game that aren't giving us winning effort
01:05 for trying to win games.
01:07 I think--
