00:08 Yeah, and that's a huge thing because obviously this is a defense from Tyson Veit that absolutely

00:16 dominated Cincinnati back in October. I believe, Russ, if we remember right, this was the type of

00:22 defense that gave Emory Jones absolute fits back here at Knippert Stadium in October. And if I

00:28 remember correctly, we asked Emory Jones what stood out about this defense and he even said

00:32 it himself that he has not seen a 3-3-5 defense like this schematically throughout his college

00:39 career. And I mean, very next, what happened? I think he was held under 100 yards that game,

00:43 if I remember right. Yeah, I got the stats right here. He was 14-26 against the Iowa State defense,

00:49 96 total passing yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, did have 15 carries for 72 yards,

00:54 but obviously didn't really matter in a 30-10 loss. Yeah, and the linebackers is what really

01:02 stands out to me. And I mean, you look at Cincinnati's linebacker core, you have Dorian

01:06 James, you have Jack Dingell. The linebacker core for what this Cincinnati team is what made them so

01:14 sound last season. I mean, obviously you lose a guy like DeSean Pace to UCF, but overall the

01:20 linebacker core is a lot of potential there. Jonathan Thompson's emerging as a huge, huge

01:26 potential candidate for a breakout 2024 season after bursting onto the scenes last season. So,

01:32 I'm really excited for what Tyson Veit is able to do. I mean, you're looking down at his stats

01:36 three times during his tenure at Iowa State that all three starting linebackers received Big 12

01:42 honors, and that was three consecutive years in 2017, 18, and 19. And the best season for Tyson

01:51 Veit was coming in 2022. I mean, you look down at Iowa State's defense, they were the third team in

01:56 Big 12 history to achieve these honors. They led the league in scoring defense, total defense,

02:04 rush defense, where they only averaged 107 yards a game. Pass defense, they only allowed 178 yards

02:10 per game during the 2022 season. So, this is a defense that is going to cause a lot of problems.
