00:00 It was very, very tough.
00:02 It brought us together for sure,
00:03 and we're ready to actually play some football now.
00:06 Early impressions on Chris Bight,
00:08 obviously, the coaching team,
00:09 and your early thoughts on Chris Bight.
00:12 Yeah, I mean, he's great. He's been --
00:15 We're still building our relationship so far.
00:18 I mean, he's still kind of new, new defense and everything,
00:21 but, yeah, he's been awesome,
00:22 and I met with him a few times, and he's been a great guy.
00:25 Now that you have a year of being in the Big 12
00:28 under your belt, how has that helped with preparation
00:30 and in your career?
00:32 Confidence. It's all about confidence,
00:34 especially in this league.
00:35 My confidence was down here. Now it's all the way up here.
00:37 It's just I see things faster.
00:39 I feel things faster and all that, so, yeah.
00:42 What's been the biggest catalyst for seeing things faster
00:44 and being developing from the end of November to now?
00:48 Definitely just coming out here and practicing
00:50 with some of these guys and stuff
00:52 and playing some of the best of the best.
00:53 I mean, it's just pushed me to be better,
00:57 especially when you make mistakes.
00:58 You got to get in the feeling.
00:59 It makes you work a little harder, for sure.
01:01 Is it more of a mental sharpness
01:03 you were trying to add to your game?
01:04 100%, yes.
01:06 It was definitely -- You got to get in the feeling.
01:07 It was all about seeing things faster,
01:09 just being more confident in what you see.
01:10 Because you got the speed, but you just got to --
01:11 Yeah, yes, sir.
01:13 A lot of new faces.
01:15 What have been your early impressions
01:16 of the early enrollees and the transfer?
01:18 Oh, they're doing great.
01:19 I mean, it's a really new team. It's awesome.
01:22 But, yeah, we definitely came closer,
01:24 and they're great kids, and we're ready to work with them.
01:28 What about Jared Bartlett?
01:29 He looks like a really experienced --
01:31 Superman. That's what we like to call him.
01:33 Oh, yeah, he's awesome, man. He's going to be a beast.
01:35 He's a good guy.
01:37 A lot of people have talked about
01:39 how hard this offseason was under Petitko and Waven.
01:42 I'm sure what that was like for you personally.
01:44 It was definitely the hardest thing I ever gone through here.
01:46 I've been here for three years, and that was definitely
01:48 the hardest offseason I ever been through.
01:49 It was tough.
01:51 And that's what happens when you go --
01:52 You don't have a really good record last year.
01:54 You got to come back, and you got to see what you did wrong,
01:56 and you got to push ourselves and become elite.
01:59 Thanks.
