00:00 We are preparing for the new Philippines kickoff rally this week.
00:05 We are joined by Director Chris Villionco of the Presidential Communications Office.
00:10 Good afternoon, Director Chris.
00:13 Good afternoon and good afternoon to all the viewers and listeners.
00:17 Welcome to the new Philippines.
00:20 Yes, I'm so happy. I will promote our new Philippines and we are here in the new Philippines.
00:26 Yes, and we can see how we prepared for this.
00:32 Because there are so many people who are excited, especially the people who are behind this kickoff rally like you.
00:39 So, for our countrymen to know, what is the agenda and goal of this week's rally?
00:46 And who is the lead agency in this campaign rally?
00:50 Okay, so the new Philippines is a call to action of our administration.
00:55 What is the call to action?
00:56 It is to remind ourselves, to remind the Filipino and to transform the Filipino with Filipino pride,
01:03 in our thoughts, words and actions.
01:06 So, how can we do that?
01:08 Even if it's just in our thoughts, we won't say that we will just be a follower.
01:13 And whatever, we are Filipinos.
01:16 We are recognized everywhere, in different parts of the world.
01:20 They recognize us for all our talents that we see.
01:23 In words, we know that most of the time in social media, it's easy to criticize each other.
01:32 But we still have a little push if we need to be positive about each other and about the country.
01:38 And of course, in actions, we can see that in everything we do.
01:43 How we are able to project ourselves to the whole world, to each other, to work, to family.
01:49 So, this is our way also to call, and we also know that not only the government
01:54 needs to have a new Philippines and this whole transformation.
02:00 We are also calling on every citizen all over the world, all Filipinos, not just nationwide.
02:06 Because we know that we cannot do this,
02:09 that this administration cannot do this,
02:13 if our citizens do not participate in our new Philippines.
02:18 And you know, Director Chris, I am personally happy
02:23 because even in my personal experience,
02:26 the Filipino pride in these times is more evident.
02:30 I mean, it's really there ever since.
02:33 But now, especially with the new Philippines,
02:37 the Filipino pride and our pride in being a Filipino is revived.
02:43 You said it, in the thoughts, in the words, in the actions, even in the clothing.
02:48 It's really popular now, when we wear our own clothes,
02:51 is it like a statement for others that, "Hey, I'm proud that this is a Filipino work, a local work."
02:59 Yes, support local.
03:02 And of course, we also know that most of our artists,
03:06 most of our talents that are not well-known here,
03:09 or who are trying to make their name here,
03:11 they still need to go to other competitions,
03:14 to other parts of the world,
03:16 and not here, before they are recognized,
03:18 before they are given attention by social media, let's say.
03:24 So, I think it's also time to start discovering and looking in.
03:29 Aside from supporting local, support local,
03:31 not just for our products, our textiles, our culture, and everything else,
03:35 but also the people that we have,
03:37 the people that we see who sing in karaoke bars,
03:40 we already know that, we know that we are not lost.
03:42 You're with them, you're the one who's going to say it.
03:44 We are not lost by talent, in whatever way, shape, or form, and also service.
03:51 I think that's what we're also recognized for.
03:53 We are always, our service, the way we are, our approach to people,
03:57 is really very different as opposed, as compared to other nationalities.
04:02 Oh, that's true.
04:03 You know, the President was very proud of the brand of service of us Filipinos,
04:09 and he felt that when there were hardships in other countries.
04:13 They saw how important our caregivers are,
04:17 our doctors, our nurses, especially during the pandemic.
04:20 Yes, I think we can see that also in social media,
04:23 the stories that we hear,
04:25 what our overseas Filipino workers are doing for their leaders, for the country,
04:31 just for them to be able to help, and to be able,
04:34 and we just have that innate quality of helping, and also sharing,
04:40 also to have empathy for whoever it is.
04:43 We don't have discrimination like that, which I love.
04:46 So I really hope that even if, let's say, our Filipino pride,
04:51 sometimes, it gets criticized, we know that, from other parts of the world.
04:56 I also ask, and I also hope that we as Filipinos,
05:01 try to support our fellow Filipinos all over the world,
05:04 who are trying their best to make their mark.
05:06 Maybe sometimes there are mistakes along the way,
05:08 or there are things that are criticized,
05:10 but I feel that we need a little more push to support our own.
05:15 Yes, it's really different when you have the whole country behind you,
05:18 the Filipino people, the nation.
05:20 And what will happen this Sunday,
05:24 everyone is excited because we want to see what you call a rally.
05:30 So is it a rally?
05:32 Is it like that?
05:33 How would you describe this big event?
05:36 I would describe it as a kick-off.
05:38 This is the beginning of what the President wants to be able to spread
05:43 as quickly as possible throughout the world.
05:47 It's not just nationwide.
05:48 I think we're really expecting that through our online support,
05:52 and of course, PTV as well.
05:54 I know that there's going to be live airtime happening.
05:58 We'll have a live broadcast on that day.
06:00 So I think it's all of that.
06:01 We are really trying to do this as fast and as quickly and as spreadable as we could,
06:06 if that's a better word for it.
06:07 Because back then, when we were discussing how we would do this,
06:11 how we would launch Bagong Pilipinas,
06:14 at first, it was just like a farm to table,
06:17 not yet reach out to the barangay, reach out, reach out.
06:20 But now, what our administration also wants is,
06:24 no, we need to call it out.
06:27 We need to be able to call to action.
06:29 We need to be able to ask everybody to be able to come together,
06:34 makibahagi, and be able to do this together.
06:36 Kasi wala namang Bagong Pilipinas kung walang Bagong Pilipino.
06:40 And that's all of us.
06:41 And what does that mean, pagiging Bagong Pilipino?
06:44 Baka iba tatanong bakit?
06:45 Ano ba yung lumang Pilipino?
06:47 O ano yung lumang Pilipinas as opposed to Bagong Pilipinas?
06:50 I think I could also say na isa po itong transformation.
06:53 Isa din itong reminder sa atin of what we have achieved,
06:58 what history has given us, what we have done,
07:02 even our parts, everything that has come across
07:06 and what we should be proud of.
07:08 Kasi sometimes I think it's really hard to remember,
07:11 kahit tayo nga, di ba, we can be so self-critical.
07:14 Di ba, kung baga nga, we have this whole idea of self-love.
07:18 And so, why can't we also do that with our own,
07:22 with our own Filipino people,
07:23 to be able to remind us of what good we have done,
07:26 what is there, not necessarily, again, sa salita.
07:30 We need to be able to push it forward for support,
07:34 to be able to know, to be able to also support
07:37 and to be able to say, "This is good."
07:39 Not necessarily, but always bad.
07:41 Di ba?
07:42 Yeah. So I understand where you're coming from.
07:45 Kasi marami nang pinagdaanan ang Pilipinas,
07:48 tayo mga Pilipino, and it's not to say that we're forgetting our past.
07:52 But actually, how would you explain that?
07:55 It's about all of this put together,
07:58 which makes us who we are now.
08:00 We are stronger as a people, di ba?
08:02 And hopefully more positive, kasi it's easy to criticize.
08:06 And we're not saying don't.
08:08 We still keep them coming because it improves one another, di ba?
08:13 Exactly.
08:14 But at some point, you also have to think,
08:19 Yes, and actually, you also think about it in terms of lumang Pilipino.
08:23 I would also say, "This is generational."
08:26 Di ba? We're always trying to cross that generational gap of whatever else was.
08:36 We need to be able to respect a little bit more.
08:38 We need to-- I mean, it can just be the smallest of things, right?
08:42 We always say that.
08:43 And so, I wouldn't want to say lumang Pilipino,
08:47 but it's just version 2.0, version 3.0, version 4.0.
08:52 Because it will change.
08:53 And I think that's also the great thing about Bagong Pilipinas,
08:57 is that we know even for the next administration and for administrations to come,
09:02 this is something that can be practiced and can be done in the simplest of ways.
09:06 And it's not something that is a complete change from what we have done in the past.
09:11 Okay, so speaking of projects, Director Chris, and yung mga programa ninyo,
09:27 Yes, aside from yung mga, of course, yung ating--
09:30 the administrations programs na meron na po,
09:32 yung Kadiwa, yung Serbisyo Fair,
09:34 yung ating Lab for All,
09:36 we are actually going to have the Lab for All bus over there,
09:39 as well as ang ating Serbisyo Fair.
09:46 Since this is open to the public, they can go there
09:48 para to avail of those services or whatever else kainan nilang--
09:52 Like, for example, andun ba ang pag-ibig?
09:54 Ganyan yung mga departments?
09:55 Because we're also calling all our departments.
09:58 Yes, we're also calling on all the government agencies.
10:03 Dahil this is really not just citizens,
10:06 we're also calling all the concerned and responsible parties
10:10 to make this Bagong Pilipinas successful.
10:13 So, of course, aside from that, we will never ever ever veer away
10:16 sa ating mga entertainment.
10:18 Of course, of course.
10:23 that we've had from the past.
10:24 Kaya we're so grateful that they're always here on board with us
10:27 to be able to showcase their talents.
10:29 And then we also have--
10:31 Skasta?
10:32 We have Andrew E.
10:33 We have Jose Enwali.
10:35 We have 4th Impact.
10:37 Isa pa po yun.
10:38 So, we have all these artists that are coming.
10:40 Geneva Cruz, R.C. Muñoz, Ronnie Liang.
10:43 These are also AFP reservists, no?
10:45 That will be singing also at the event.
10:48 So, this is really going to be a fun day,
10:50 but also an informative day for us to rejoice
10:54 and celebrate Bagong Pilipinas.
10:56 Alright.
11:07 Definitely po, from the government side,
11:09 we of course are going to have the First Family.
11:12 Of course, we are calling our government agencies,
11:14 the departments, our cabinet secretaries.
11:16 Sila po ang pupunta dun,
11:18 and then of course our artists,
11:19 and of course the most important, our public.
11:21 We are calling everyone to please come
11:24 and join us sa Sunday.
11:26 So, ito ay libre.
11:28 You can just come.
11:28 Wala namang ticket,
11:29 walang babayaran.
11:31 Wala po.
11:31 Meron namang space for everybody.
11:33 How many people are you expecting to attend?
11:35 We are expecting around 200,000 to attend.
11:39 So, sana po talaga pumunta po kayo.
11:42 Please come early.
11:48 So, I really hope that magkita-kita po tayo dun.
11:58 Alright, very excited ang lahat.
12:04 How can they participate dito sa programa ngayong linggo?
12:07 Syempre, aside from being live here,
12:09 we also have our live streaming from radio television Malacanang.
12:13 So, we will be able to, and of course, the Presidential Communications Office.
12:17 And then, of course, we also have our YouTube channels.
12:19 That will be on.
12:21 That will be live streaming everything.
12:23 Yes, please sumali kayo, manood, mag-comment, mag-like, mag-heart.
12:38 Ngayon bilang panghuli, Director Chris,
12:47 Good afternoon.

13:23 And let's celebrate that together.
13:25 Kita-kita po tayo.
