00:09 Russian forces and their proxies have controlled large areas of Donetsk since 2014,

00:14 following pro-democracy protests in Ukraine,

00:17 which escalated to a separatist conflict.

00:20 According to a Ukrainian military report,

00:22 mercenaries from Malaysia and a former Wagner member

00:25 were spotted in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region.

00:29 Ukraine's National Resistance Centre said

00:32 the Malaysian fighters who were at a training ground

00:34 were accompanied by a translator.

00:37 It warned that anyone fighting alongside the Russians against Ukraine

00:40 would be considered the enemy.

00:43 It also said Cubans, Nepalis, Belarusians and Serbs

00:47 are among those who have repeatedly been seen as members of the Russian armed forces.
