00:23 Historically, those who spot Bigfoot say he stands between six and nine feet tall.
00:27 That's not too far off from adult black bears when standing up bipedally, which are around four to six and a half feet in height.
00:33 In fact, the now peer-reviewed study found that for every 1,000 black bears in a particular area, Bigfoot sightings increased by 4%.
00:40 In fact, there was one Bigfoot sighting for every 5,000 black bears in 2006.
00:45 Foxen also discovered that nearby human populations also change the data as well,
00:49 with more people near forested areas also meaning more Bigfoot sightings.
00:53 And that metric was also true in places like Florida, where there are actually fewer bears, but larger populations of people near forested areas.
