Two future Alabama players named to McDonalds All American team

00:00 >> They just released the 2024 McDonald's All-American rosters and

00:03 both Aiden Shirell and Darian Reed were named.

00:06 What's that recognition mean for both them in this program?

00:09 >> Yeah, I mean, they're really good players.

00:11 We're super excited to get them both here.

00:13 It's supposed to be a 24 plus players, nice basketball.

00:20 It's nice to have two of them.

00:21 You have more talent.

00:23 It's easier to be early to coach, it's easier to win games.

00:27 So we're excited to have the opportunity to hopefully have more talent than

00:32 a lot of our opponents next year.

00:33 So our assistants did a great job.

00:36 We were on both these guys with the previous assistants and

00:42 they got handed off to the new assistants that were able to close it.

00:47 And we've been on both these guys for a long time.

00:49 Darian being from over in Georgia, not too far.

00:52 He's been over here a decent amount.

00:54 Aiden's originally from Detroit, I think we're, I coached 11 years and

00:59 a lot of those people, he's kind of bounced around a couple different places.

01:02 But they're both high school teammates now, which is pretty cool.

01:06 Because we were recruiting before they ever teamed up together.

01:09 And their teams are on best teams in high school basketball.

01:13 Hopefully they come in knowing how to win, competing.

01:16 But yeah, you gotta get good talent to win.

01:19 And I like where we're at with this class.

01:21 And then Nas is really good too.

01:23 So in making bounce game, but he's got three guys that are top 40,

01:28 for sure top 50 players that are all very talented,

01:32 fit the scheme that we wanna play under.
