Just a Minute: Alabama sees two of its Class of 2024 signees earn their 5th star in final

00:09 Alabama basketball, Alabama gymnastics, and Alabama softball today. You can read all about

00:14 that at BamaCentral.com. But for today's Just a Minute, I want to talk about 24/7's re-rankings

00:20 of the 2024 class. Obviously, we all know Nick Saban retired a couple of weeks ago and Kaelin

00:25 DeBoer has had to re-recruit some of the guys back into the fold. 24/7 Sports National Recruiting

00:31 Service recently put out the final rankings for this 2024 class. Alabama has three five-stars in

00:38 the class. Julian Sagan, unfortunately, transferring to Ohio State, but the three five-stars all in the

00:44 secondary. Zadian Brown, Zay Minzey, and quarterback Jalen Mbokwe right here from Alabama.

00:50 Jalen Mbokwe was already a five-star recruit. We've all seen how good he is quarterbacking

00:55 and playing defense for Clay Chalkville. Just up the road from Tuscaloosa, 6A state champion,

01:00 Mr. Do-It-Everything. Maybe Coach DeBoer will use him on offense, but I think he's going to be

01:05 suited. I think he's going to find a great spot in the Alabama secondary. A lot of people have

01:10 been worried about Alabama secondary because Koued McKinstry and Terry Arnold are going into

01:15 the NFL draft, both expected to be first-round draft picks here in a couple of months. But major

01:20 concerns when Caleb Downs went into the transfer portal and ended up at Ohio State. Fear not,

01:26 Alabama fans, I think that you've got great prospects coming in. In Zay Minzey, I think he's

01:31 going to find his way into the cornerback rotation in 2024. And Zadian Brown looks like a player who

01:38 is ready to ball out. Both guys from opposite ends of the country, Zadian Brown from California and

01:44 Zay Minzey from Florida. It seems to be great, great athletic gits. And I think that Zay Minzey

01:50 might be a guy that Alabama fans fall in love with very, very quickly. Clinton Dix went onto

01:56 Twitter pretty recently complimenting Zay Minzey's mental makeup as he's already come into Tuscaloosa

02:03 and is here for spring practice, here for the spring semester. So fear not, Alabama fans, I know

02:09 the transition has been a little bit shaky with a lot of the roster turnover, the transfer portal

02:15 ins and outs, people going and finding new schools, Alabama losing Trey Amos as well to Ole Miss.

02:20 There's going to be a lot of opportunities for these young players, these new five stars, to

02:25 find the roster early. You also have five-star cornerback Damani Jackson transferred from USC

02:32 to Alabama. So Alabama, while they lost significant talent in the transfer portal and to the NFL draft,

02:39 in the secondary, is bringing in a ton of talent in its own right, both from the transfer portal

02:47 and in recruiting. Today's Just a Minute featured Zay Minzey and Zadian Brown, both earning their

02:53 fifth star from 24/7 Sports. They accompanied Jaylen Mbokwe, and now Alabama has three defensive

03:01 backs that are five stars in the 2024 class. Last little bit of recruiting for the 2024 class,

03:07 all focuses on Ryan Williams, and so February 9th will be his day to see if Alabama can add

03:13 another five-star recruit to this class, going from four to five. Obviously, you want to make

03:19 sure that Ryan Williams comes into the class, but regardless, Alabama is loaded in the 2024 class
