00:00 Okay, I'm Caitlin McDaniel. I'm with Rainbow Media Co. It's wonderful to see you all.
00:05 I'm so excited for the film and I can just tell that how excited you all are about it as well.
00:10 So that's just so amazing to see. I wanted to just start off.
00:14 There's so much inclusion that really goes into this sci-fi film, which is so great to see.
00:19 So going over to you, E. Duffy, I wanted to ask about your character because they really bring this level of inclusion,
00:25 representation to the story. So what does this role mean for you?
00:29 I think
00:31 for me as an individual
00:34 it means that it's an exciting change in our industry. I think
00:39 people have been waiting a really long time to see a diversity of stories being told
00:45 and I think it's really exciting to
00:49 especially young kids who get to grow up with some of these stories and
00:53 imagine who they get to be one day, whether it be in the real world or maybe young kids who want to be actors.
00:59 I think, you know, I think we're all really excited about that.
01:04 Yeah, absolutely. Yes. And just going over to you, Cleopatra, I know that, you know, you're all part of the Blood Axes.
01:10 You're bringing these new people to life.
01:13 So how did you collaborate with your fellow cast members here and to bring on authenticity and depth to these characters?
01:19 Yeah, well to start with, like, it's such a rich world
01:23 and there's this whole history of the Blood Axes that we were able to learn about and sort of bring that
01:29 into the fold in the film. And I think the job on a movie like this is always to try to ground it as much
01:35 as possible and I think thankfully it's all in the script. It's really universal themes.
01:39 But really for me it was about that. It was about the brother-sister relationship, making sure that was really reading,
01:45 and then the relationship with, like, our other rebels as well.
01:50 Absolutely. And I know that Zack Snyder kind of said that, you know, he's able to push these boundaries.
01:56 He felt like this project really gave him freedom and he also said that he got to make it a little freakier, a little more inclusive.
02:02 So I wanted to go over to you, Ray, and just ask, did you feel that on set that he was really pushing and making something big?
02:07 You feel it in the script, for sure. When you read it, you're just like, "Oh wow, this is where we're going with it?
02:11 Okay, all right." And then Zack starts talking to you about it because, you know, how Zack generally shoots is it'll be maybe half a page dialogue
02:18 but he can take it and expand it into like 10 minutes of actual footage, right, depending on what the sequence is.
02:23 And so just having him be able to explain with all of that sort of, like, all that boyish charm and boyish enthusiasm,
02:30 right, and have him just be, like, super excited and it almost feels like a man is just free to be, right?
02:37 Just be themselves, be in their own skin.
02:39 Absolutely. And did you feel that you had that same freedom in creating your characters and really being able to
02:44 to bring that to life and to push and to just really, like, hone in on what you wanted to be?
02:49 Oh, for sure. And I think a lot of that goes into the prep. Any time you had a question, concern, what have you,
02:54 Zack was always available, always had an answer, and always just encouraged you to just be.
03:00 Absolutely. Well, thank you all so much. It was so great chatting with you today.
03:04 Thank you. Thank you.
