00:00Like, literally, like, kind of looking over my shoulder,
00:03uh-huh, yeah, uh-huh, oh, yeah, right?
00:04Yeah, I'm totally thinking about myself.
00:05And I'm thinking, like, not only are they not listening,
00:07this person's lying to me, right?
00:10In the middle of a scene.
00:11Or is she?
00:12Linda, I just have to say, we in the queer community love you.
00:15Oh, thank you.
00:16For a lot of people, you are the gay awakening.
00:18I don't know how often you hear that.
00:21But thank you for all that you've done.
00:23My pleasure.
00:24And continue to do.
00:25I love this show, and I feel like people are really
00:27going to enjoy it for how much it brings representation,
00:29really, and diverse stories.
00:31So was that a big, like, point for you?
00:33Yes, and I, of course.
00:35And also, I mean, it all comes from Liz and what she writes.
00:38And she writes these beautifully rich characters
00:42who are just so much fun to play.
00:45And I think people connect with them.
00:47And it shows sort of things that maybe people aren't always
00:50talking about or people aren't always seeing on screen.
00:53And I think that's what's so beautiful about what she does
00:55and what she has to say.
00:57And just her own specific brand of humor
01:00infused into all of it, I think, is, I don't know,
01:03when she told me she was going to write something for me,
01:06I thought, how lucky can I be?
01:08Yeah, absolutely.
01:10And I have to ask, have you two worked together
01:12since Legally Blonde?
01:14We have not.
01:15No, this is the first.
01:16And I mean, even then, like, on Legally Blonde,
01:18we didn't really get to do scenes together.
01:19Right, just staring each other down.
01:21And certainly not scenes like we got to do on this.
01:24But we got a long way back then.
01:26But I think, you know, I was certainly really excited
01:29to get the chance to, you know, because I'm a fan of Linda's
01:32and, you know, seeing different stuff she's been in.
01:34So it was really exciting, the chance to get to work
01:37with her in person.
01:39Yeah, absolutely.
01:40And you guys have such fun chemistry.
01:42You get to do so many scenes that just, you know,
01:45have a lot of, I don't know, I don't want to spoil it.
01:49Everything's a spoiler.
01:50That's the hard part about it.
01:51Right, that's really it.
01:52Everything is a spoiler.
01:53They say that as an actor, the number one thing
01:56you're supposed to do is listen.
01:57So I would be doing these scenes with Linda as Margo.
02:01I'm like, this person's not listening to me.
02:03Margo's bad listener.
02:04Like, literally, like, kind of looking over my shoulder.
02:06Uh-huh, yeah, uh-huh, yeah, right?
02:08Yeah, I'm only thinking about myself.
02:09And I'm thinking, like, not only are they not listening,
02:11this person's lying to me.
02:13Right?
02:13In the middle of a scene.
02:14Or is she?
02:15You just break character.
02:16You just, like, cut it out.
02:18Like, you know, stop it right now.
02:19You're sitting in the curb, you're like, oh my god,
02:22I can see how you totally manipulated me.
02:24And I just thought it was so funny,
02:25because I was half in and half out of character.
02:28Oh my gosh.
02:29Is there, I mean, that is obviously
02:31a really fun day on set.
02:32Is there any other, like, really memorable times
02:34that you could tell us?
02:36I think we both had fun in this, I think it's episode five,
02:40where we got, our characters got to interact with Ray Romano
02:44and Lisa Kudrow, where we run into them,
02:47it's supposed to be by chance, but we've planned it,
02:50you know, in Griffith Park.
02:51And then later we all kind of wind up back at the house,
02:54and I wind up, you know, at the piano with Lisa Kudrow,
02:59and she winds up in the hot tub with Ray Romano.
03:02So there are these two very odd scenes going on,
03:06but I think that we both, I mean,
03:08I certainly just appreciated the fact that, you know,
03:11you work with somebody like Ray Romano and Lisa,
03:13and you think like, okay, I can see why
03:15the whole country loves them.
03:17And they're also so, you know, well thought of
03:19in the business, because they're, you know,
03:21they're humble, they're creative, they're hardworking,
03:25and also just really, really funny in scenes.
03:29You know, Ray, you see him playing like the contractor,
03:33you really bought it, him being like a Queens guy.
03:37So I really had fun talking to Ray about like his real life,
03:41and then Lisa was just so great, like, you know,
03:44she would be talking about being a parent, and yeah.
03:47Yeah, they're awesome people and just comedy giants.
03:51So it's just, and they make such a great on-screen couple too,
03:56which I think I didn't know I needed that.
03:58And then when I saw them together, I was like,
04:00oh my God, this is extraordinary.
04:02Yeah, you think of them as kind of not the same
04:05or not the first people you'd pick as a couple.
04:07You'd see in the table reads where all of a sudden
04:10they're like, this is like, I feel like I'm watching a movie.
04:13Like this is a real couple with history.
04:15Yeah, with history.
04:16Just in the way they almost kind of subtly like ignore each other.
04:20You could feel the tension, not with them personally,
04:23but as their characters.
04:24Of course, yes.
04:25I feel like everyone that shares the screen
04:28has such an amazing dynamic that it just truly loops you in.
04:33And just to close really fast, I have to ask,
04:35who do you think would solve this mystery better,
04:38Emmett from your character or Velma?
04:41Velma.
04:42Do you think they'd make a good team?
04:44Oh, I think Emmett.
04:45I think Emmett and Velma would be hilarious.
04:47That's a hilarious team.
04:49That's a way to go.
04:50I would say Velma too.
04:52I can't remember much about Emmett.
04:56I think he might have gone to Harvard, but still.
04:58He works well with strong women.
05:00He does, you're right.
05:01They might be a great team.
05:03Definitely needs a strong woman.
05:04Emmett's the wind beneath Velma's wings.
05:06Yes, that's the quote.
05:08Thank you all so much.
