The notion that Arizona might hire Wilcox never made much sense
Transcript
00:00 Brennan was the logical choice all along to become Arizona's next coach.
00:05 A number of people, as soon as Fish was hired at Washington, claimed that Brennan was likely
00:12 to be the Arizona coach and such is the case.
00:16 The speculation that Wilcox would be a candidate at Arizona, I don't know, it was a little
00:22 far-fetched, but media people had to come up with somebody who might be candidates for
00:28 that job and I guess Wilcox was available.
00:32 His name was available so they threw him in the pot and threw him out there as a potential
00:37 candidate.
00:38 I don't think there was ever any serious consideration by Arizona to make him the head coach and
00:44 I don't know why Wilcox would have accepted it anyway.
00:50 So it didn't make sense from either side.
00:53 This makes a whole lot more sense.
00:54 Brennan has been real successful at San Jose State.
00:56 He made a competitive football program out of one that had not been competitive for a
01:03 long time and so he steps into the Arizona position with a strong resume.
