00:00 Not really a surprise, but it was a surprise how quickly it happened.
00:03 After months of campaigning, within 30 minutes, it was all over.
00:06 So quickly, in fact, that at the caucus centre that I was at,
00:10 we hadn't even finished counting the votes,
00:12 and some precincts hadn't even voted by the point that the results were announced.
00:17 It is the largest victory in a contested GOP caucus.
00:22 30 points Donald Trump won by, so something that he will be, I'm sure,
00:26 using as he goes forward into New Hampshire.
00:29 Now, after that, we had multiple GOP officials speaking at his event,
00:36 including, there were many people there, including Matt Gaetz, the Florida congressman.
00:40 There were also international figures like Nigel Farage and also Carrie Lake,
00:45 who is somebody who gained a lot of media attention when she was running for governor of Arizona
00:51 and ultimately lost that contest.
00:53 But I asked her at one point whether she thought she would be running for vice president with Donald Trump.
01:01 She said she's focusing on her run for Arizona senator, but didn't, when I pushed her on it,
01:06 she didn't really say no, so maybe something to watch there.
01:08 Trump's speech then began. It was about 15 minutes long, and he said,
01:13 "Now is the time to come together, whether Democrats or Republican, liberal or conservative."
01:18 He thanked Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley. He said, "We're all having a good time."
01:22 He also said that they did well, even though they came second.
01:26 That got a bit of a laugh from the crowd.
01:28 He said one of his messages was that he wanted everybody to come together,
01:31 but he also wanted to, quote, "drill baby drill."
01:34 He wants more oil production in the United States.
01:37 And then he said that he wanted to seal up the border.
01:39 He said that there were invasions of millions of people coming from insane asylums,
01:43 as well as terrorists from countries that most people have never heard of.
01:47 Of course, those claims are something that we can't verify,
01:50 and most news outlets have reported as baseless.
01:53 But Donald Trump, therefore, continuing the message that got him a historic win here in Iowa.
