Bears have winnable games next week at home
Transcript
00:00 Cal will try to get its confidence back next week after the demoralizing lopsided loss to Utah on Sunday.
00:08 Cal plays two games at home next week that it's very capable of winning.
00:12 They play Oregon State and Oregon. Oregon State on Friday and Oregon on Sunday.
00:17 And those are both teams that Cal is capable of beating in Berkeley.
00:21 Cal did well to not lose by more points.
00:26 They were down by 43 points with a little over a minute to go in Sunday's game.
00:31 And that would have been the worst loss since 2021 when they lost to Oregon by 59 points,
00:37 which is the largest loss in the history of Cal women's basketball.
00:42 It didn't come to that, though. They got a couple of quick points at the end.
00:46 Cremilly got three free throws in the final, what was it, four seconds, I guess,
00:52 to get it as close as 37 and avoid the largest loss since that Oregon game in 2021.
01:00 It was only the largest loss since the Stanford game when they lost by 39.
01:03 That's later that same 2021 season.
01:07 So next week, they'll try to forget this game and try to farewell against Oregon and Oregon State.
01:14 The Bears are still sort of in the running, I think, for the NCAA tournament berth,
01:18 although it's going to take some -- they're going to have to win every game which they can win
01:23 and maybe pull off a win against one of the teams that are favored,
01:28 that will be favored against the Bears.
