00:00 Created with the belief that art should be more accessible, Splash Art on Duke Street is an interactive studio offering visitors the chance to create their very own masterpiece.
00:14 Though you do get two sets of overalls plus shoe covers to protect yourself from paint, it is advised against wearing your best clothes.
00:22 Yes, this is very messy but that's part of the fun.
00:27 So what I'm trying to do now is hit one of the balloons filled with paint with this dart.
00:34 I've got these very snazzy goggles on. Let's see how good my aim is. I'm not very confident.
00:40 [Screams]
00:43 Now we've done with the dart, what we're going to do is the next thing is we're going to spin it and then that's going to create some beautiful, unique artwork that we can take home with ourselves.
00:53 The venture is the brainchild of Jasmine Unger. Originally from Stuttgart, Germany, she started creating art as a form of meditation, providing a release from the pressure of running her own hospitality business.
01:06 I used this form of an art therapy. At times I didn't even know I was doing that. But it did really, really much for me and I just want to make sure that everybody can experience that.
01:16 Whether you have got experience or you don't have experience, you can just come in and enjoy yourself.
01:22 The class is designed to just have a fun time with your loved ones, to have a fun time even just by yourself if you want to come in by yourself and meet new people.
01:31 Because the beauty of this class is there is other people in the class that you've never met before, but by the end you leave talking to them.
01:38 Even if you just want to come in by yourself, it's fine to do that.
01:41 Families just get together, they put their phones on the side and they just enjoy their time together and see a different side that they haven't seen before. That's the best part about it.
01:52 After being shown a number of techniques, we were first directed to practice on the walls before we moved on to our canvases.
02:00 Splashing, squirting, splattering and even shooting paint out of a water gun.
02:07 This is an abstract paint class made for fun and I had an absolute blast unleashing my inner child.
02:16 Our aim at the moment is to just make sure everybody's having a great experience of what we do.
02:21 We're definitely open to open more art classes. It may be pouring art, it may be alcohol inks.
02:29 There's so many variations that we can do because this room is so big and it's given us the space to do really anything that we want.
02:39 I know you're all waiting for the big reveal of my masterpiece.
02:44 These goggles are gorgeous, wish I could wear them all the time.
02:48 Voila! I'm really proud of it.
02:52 And do you know what is the most important thing? I had so much fun making it.
02:58 Do you think my mum will put it on the fridge?
03:01 Woohoo!
