Hornsdale antique machinery - Caterpillar 22 tractor and a May Brothers stripper.

00:00 I am Geoff Wilkins. My family have been farming here for the last 118 years

00:08 and there's never been a clearing sale on the property so therefore a lot of this older

00:14 machinery is accumulated. This was my grandfather's first stripper in 1907. It was last used in 1932.

00:27 Last September there was a possession in Laura from the Ag Bureau and a couple of the mates

00:33 come in they knew I had it here so they said it'd be nice to put in the possession so

00:38 we dug it out of the back of the shed and that's sort of got me motivated and

00:46 it's been left out and it's been threatening for two or three years. I'd love to see it work

00:52 and so the opportunity arrived with the ability of a crawler tractor by next door and that's

00:58 where it went so that's why it was out here and yeah the younger generation have never ever seen

01:04 anything like this work let alone understand how they work and so yeah us old farmers have fun or

01:11 pleasure passing on our knowledge to the younger generation.
