00:00 "Viva! Viva pom Jesus Nazareno!"
00:04 After 15 hours of procession through the roads of Manila,
00:08 from the Carino Grandstand at 5 in the morning on Tuesday,
00:12 the dark-skinned statue of Jesus Christ carrying a cross reached its destination
00:17 at Keapu Church at exactly 7.47 in the evening.
00:20 "Viva San Ignacio Nazareno!"
00:23 The entire Keapu Church reverberated with loud cheers and chants
00:27 as throngs of devotees welcomed the much-awaited return of the miraculous image.
00:34 The devotees were beaming with pride and joy
00:36 as proof of their deep devotion to the Black Nazarene.
00:40 I was not tired.
00:44 I was overwhelmed with joy.
00:48 I just prayed for the safety of my family,
00:52 for the strength of my family.
00:56 I was blessed with daily blessings.
00:57 I have been praying for three years now.
00:59 I brought my son with me to adapt our faith to the Nazarene.
01:06 All day long, Nazareno devotees endured the scourging heat and the huge crowd.
01:11 Many say what they went through in the past few days didn't matter
01:15 and was nothing compared to the sufferings of Christ.
01:19 No matter how hot it was, we would still keep on praying.
01:22 We would fight for our victory, for Paul Nazareno.
01:27 We went to different places,
01:30 Valenzuela, Caloocan, Bigan, Bicol, Baler,
01:35 and of course, we went to the Philippines from Canada
01:40 to be with us in the Translation.
01:43 A devotee even celebrated her birthday at the Translation,
01:46 which has become an annual tradition for her.
01:49 My name is Susa Cruz-Pierce.
01:52 I have been close to God ever since.
01:55 It has become a tradition for me.
01:57 I feel like I'm not complete without my birthday.
02:01 But after the religious festivity,
02:03 tons of waste such as plastic bottles and food wrappers,
02:07 among other things, were left on the streets.
02:11 Meanwhile, authorities say majority of the medical cases reported
02:15 were people who suffered from exhaustion and dehydration
02:19 and minor injuries such as bruises.
02:22 Nonetheless, the PNP says this year's Translation
02:25 was generally safe and peaceful.
