00:00 Lodge Lane might just be the most diverse street in Liverpool. It's a multicultural
00:06 melting pot where you can grab some delightful food, pick up some electricals and even walk
00:11 away with a smart new haircut. We have your ultimate guide to this distinct slice of the
00:17 city. Lodge Lane is peppered with independent shops and restaurants. You can almost eat
00:23 your way around the world without having to leave this street. From Ethiopian to Middle
00:30 Eastern, Mexican to Afghan, you'll surely secure something tantalising for your taste buds.
00:35 With sweet treats and snacks, as well as food to keep you full all day, you're absolutely
00:40 spoilt for choice when it comes to delectable delights. Don't let the name fool you, Manchester
00:47 Superstore is an award-winning one-stop shop for almost all your grocery needs. The independent
00:53 family-run business is one of the largest Asian grocery retailers in the North. As well
00:59 as providing basic staples, there is a wide range of spices, tons of exotic fruit and
01:04 veg as well as fresh halal meat on offer. This has become a destination in itself, serving
01:09 not only locals but the wider community. Tyber Football Centre is a facility with a FIFA
01:16 standard full-size pitch just off Lodge Lane, predominantly for young people and kids of
01:21 all ages. However, they do facilitate sessions for the wider community with a group for female
01:27 refugees and men who are looking to get fit respectively. The likes of Euro 2022 winner
01:34 Nikita Parus got her start here, albeit before these facilities were quite so substantial,
01:40 so it certainly has some pedigree. The Shipping Container Village opened on Lodge Lane in
01:47 June of 2021. It was hailed as transformative for the area, however, it has proved controversial
01:53 with tenants complaining of extortionate rents. Despite this, there are a number of businesses
01:59 serving up delicious food and more from these funky containers. It is well worth a visit
02:04 if you're not familiar with the area and want a taste of what locals love about this vibrant
02:10 street. We're cheating a bit with this one as it's not technically Lodge Lane but it
02:16 does act as somewhat of a gateway to Sefton Park. Spread over 235 acres, the sprawling
02:23 historic green space is Green Flag and Green Heritage awarded site with beautiful features
02:28 and monuments with tennis courts, children's play area, a lake and more. It is a great
02:33 place to visit and enjoy the change in seasons. Lodge Lane is so culturally rich. It's a great
02:40 example of communities coming together and celebrating the diversity which is the beating
02:45 heart of the city. Whether you are a local who knows it like the back of your hand or
02:51 unfamiliar with the area and yet to discover its charms, it rightly deserves to be celebrated.
02:58 A home from home, a place where you'll never have to walk alone.
