00:09 Nearly 3,000 runners from 22 countries
00:12 competed in the marathon and half-marathon races,
00:15 battling strong winds from an approaching monsoon.

00:20 the 4612 and the 4613,
00:22 The wind is strong on the Jinmen Bridge.
00:24 It's easy to run. It's comfortable.
00:26 The setting for this two-day race, Jinmen,
00:29 sitting just 10 kilometers away from the eastern coast of China,
00:33 it offers competitors a chance to learn more about the island's history and natural beauty.
00:38 The wind is getting stronger and bigger, so it's a bit challenging.
00:41 But I think the track and the route are well planned.
00:48 I believe the runners can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Jinmen.
00:52 The islands are also home to several military bases.
00:56 And this year, members of the Marines' elite 101st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion,
01:06 also known as the Sea Dragon Frogmen, joined the race.
01:11 This year's marathon was held a week earlier than usual
01:14 to accommodate Taiwan's elections on January 13th.
01:18 But the earlier date and the wind did not impact these runners' enthusiasm.
