00:00 As this weather event is now passing through the state, the focus turns to supporting communities
00:07 and households that have been affected and as we've seen from the reports today,
00:12 communities like Heathcote, Goorong, Reedsdale here in central Victoria but also across to
00:19 Rochester and Seymour have been particularly affected and may be also potentially affected
00:25 over the coming days as the flood water rises which is why there will be a very careful and
00:33 close watching brief for those communities that are continuing to be at risk from rising flood
00:39 water. Here in the area of the City of Greater Bendigo and I'm joined by the Federal Member for
00:46 Bendigo Lisa Chesters and the Mayor of the City of Greater Bendigo Andrea Metcalfe and I'd also
00:52 like to thank the City of Greater Bendigo team who have already stood up the relief centre at
00:58 the Bendigo showgrounds providing support to people who have been displaced as a result of the weather
01:06 event. So that centre is there and open for people who need support and as assessments, impact
01:13 assessments are done over the course of today and into tomorrow, that will give a lot of advice and
01:20 information on the best next steps to provide additional support particularly as we move into
01:26 the relief phase for those affected communities and households. So there is continuing to be
01:33 if you like both support now as households have been affected and the weather has moved through
01:39 but also for those that may continue to be affected particularly around that Seymour,
01:43 Rochester, Echuca area and we'll continue to monitor that situation very closely.
