00:00 So thank you for what you are about to do and let's give a big cheer for a Labour victory here at Kingswood.
00:05 [Cheering]
00:11 Well Rishi Sunak could do the right thing and call a general election.
00:14 We're up for a general election. I think Britain is up for a general election.
00:18 The voters of Kingswood get to vote not only in this by-election but probably in a general election as well
00:22 and I suspect they'll be sending the same message to the Conservatives.
00:26 Their time is up. It's time to call a general election and have a fresh start with Labour.
00:30 I do want to pay some tribute to Chris Skidmore.
00:33 I mean obviously I've worked closely with him on net zero policies in recent years.
00:36 He's very genuine in his just dismay at the fact that the government has backtracked on net zero commitments.
00:44 So I think this is really coming from the heart and I just, like I said,
00:47 I want to pay tribute to him for actually deciding that enough is enough
00:51 and that he can't carry on supporting the current Tory government.
