Cam Taylor-Britt on Bengals' Loss to Chiefs
Transcript
00:00 >> Honestly, I think just leverage is in communication.
00:05 I think when we communicate, we play our best ball.
00:07 There's no confusion on the field.
00:10 It looks like sound football.
00:11 But when somebody motions and we don't know what's going on or anything and
00:17 the back end especially, we gotta talk.
00:19 And when we don't talk, that's how a big play happens.
00:21 >> But how do you explain the lack of communication given almost the final
00:27 week of the season, you guys have been playing together as a group.
00:29 What would you say is the reason why communication is a struggle?
00:32 >> Man, I do not know, honestly.
00:34 I think we need this off season to figure that out, come together as one.
00:39 Cuz yeah, that's what we feel like we gotta do.
00:42 >> What's the feeling like, you guys aren't used to this in this room,
00:46 the season's ending before the playoffs.
00:48 Can you describe just what it feels like for the group there?
00:52 >> Just attending last year, honestly, it's a total different feeling.
00:56 Knowing that you are going to the playoffs to not knowing that you aren't going.
01:01 You're kinda down, most definitely, I'd say.
01:03 But as a leader, I say I gotta continue to keep people up.
01:06 They can't see me down.
01:08 And most definitely, I can't make sure they're down.
01:09 So we gotta kinda stick together most definitely, cuz we still won.
01:12 >> Is that what happened on Pacheco's touchdown,
01:14 when he caught you, was it a talk, not a motion?
01:17 >> No, I don't think so on that one.
01:19 I think he really just got out.
01:20 They were running through everybody.
01:21 We're in the man concept, and they were running through everybody, and
01:23 he just got him free.
01:24 >> What happened?
01:26 >> It's been like a year where just you guys couldn't get the rhythm going.
01:30 So it was always something, some kind of adversity,
01:32 some setback in obviously the bro.
01:33 And you just feel like one of those years where it never could come together the way
01:37 it should have or you hoped it would?
01:38 >> Yeah, I guess you can say that, man.
01:41 Looking from the outside in, a lot of people going down early in the season to
01:45 where we had to come back and just try to make the record better.
01:48 And playing these tough teams, man, when your top guys go down,
01:53 it's very hard most definitely.
01:54 So it was always next man up.
01:55 I feel like some of the guys did their thing and
01:58 came in as far as substitution wise, but most definitely, no, it's a different feeling.
02:03 >> What was the most frustrating part of this season been for you?
02:06 >> I think me just being down, honestly.
02:08 Yeah, I think those five weeks me missing.
02:10 And not to be selfish, but I missed a lot of money, man, a lot of opportunity just
02:15 to showcase my skills and everything.
02:18 So I think that was the biggest thing for me this year.
02:21 But other than that, man, I think that's it.
02:24 >> It's just kind of like so many people, you were on a roll, right?
02:26 You were feeling like, man, I'm rolling, I gotta go, and then all just like that,
02:29 it was kind of taken away.
02:31 It makes the season even more frustrating for you, I'm sure.
02:34 >> Yeah, most definitely it did.
02:35 Like you said, those five games meant a lot.
02:37 And we could have won all five of them, I believe, if I did play.
02:41 But should have, could have, would have.
02:43 We're here now and we gotta move on.
02:44 >> I mean, you guys are the leader of this team, the secondary,
02:48 a young secondary, going to the pre next year.
02:51 >> Most definitely, man.
02:51 I plan to make sure all the guys stick together throughout this offseason.
02:56 Most definitely we're gonna get together somewhere and do something,
02:58 some type of workout, go out together.
03:01 Just try to keep everything tight until we get around each other again.
03:04 >> Overall, is there a way you can describe
