00:00 Well, that rain that we have been talking about across the Midwest, well, it's spreading
00:10 on east and here's going to be your setup here Tuesday into Wednesday.
00:14 Kind of the flavor of things.
00:16 We have milder air still holding on there across the northeast, particularly there along
00:22 the I-95 corridor.
00:24 That's what we're going to be talking about.
00:26 Just a straight rain event.
00:27 We don't really have enough cold late December air to really even think about snow in these
00:33 areas, but we see that dip in the jet stream.
00:36 We're increasing that instability in the atmosphere.
00:39 And while we are talking about some rain putting on it, we're also going to be talking about
00:43 heavy rain at that Tuesday night into Wednesday night.
00:47 We are concerned about rising creeks and rivers, of course, ponding on the roadways still going
00:51 to be a top concern.
00:53 Now this now this concern is going to spread across Pennsylvania, down through the mid
00:58 Atlantic, up through the Hudson Valley, most of Connecticut, closer towards the coast and
01:02 the New York City metro area extending through Long Island.
01:07 Urban and street flooding is going to be a big concern there as well as travel disruption.
01:10 So a lot of people are going to be traveling here over these next few days, maybe leaving
01:14 friends and friends after they friends and family after they visited them for the holiday.
01:18 But then as they are heading home, well, you're going to run into some wet weather here.
01:22 This is Tuesday night.
01:23 I'm going to jump ahead in time.
01:24 It's around 11 p.m.
01:25 Eastern Time.
01:26 We're starting to see that rain ramp up here across eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania,
01:31 southwestern New York, and even down through the mid Atlantic.
01:34 That rain is going to gradually spread a little bit further north as we head into Wednesday
01:38 morning.
01:39 This is now around 8 a.m.
01:41 Heads up upstate New York.
01:42 We are talking about widespread heavy rain.
01:44 Philadelphia, eastern Pennsylvania, that rain moves into your region.
01:47 And then as we take this into the afternoon in New York, you're going to start to see
01:51 some of that heavier rain pull on through down through the Delmarva and then, of course,
01:55 up through the interior northeast.
01:57 That's going to be the story even as we head throughout the day on Wednesday.
02:00 Areas like Boston and Portland, you're going to dodge a lot of those raindrops.
02:03 But hey, I'm not going to rule out even a shower or two, especially as we see some of
02:07 that moisture lift on north as we head into Thursday.
02:11 Now here's your outlook for Thursday.
02:12 Still pretty mild there along the coast.
02:14 Low pressure still going to be in charge as we are talking about some lingering showers
02:18 there across the interior northeast.
