Tee Higgins on Facing Vikings Defense, Bengals Offense with Jake Browning & More
Transcript
00:00 See what stands out about this Vikings defense.
00:02 >> They bliss a lot.
00:07 They got really good DBS.
00:11 So it's gonna be a challenge, especially for the guys up front.
00:14 But definitely looking forward to it.
00:17 >> When you're playing a team next, a lot of zero points the week before,
00:20 is that more helpful when you're looking at tape or is it harder?
00:23 >> I mean, I guess you could say both.
00:29 Obviously, that's hard to do, especially in this league.
00:32 So hats off to them for doing that last game.
00:35 But we just gotta come out and just go execute the game plan and
00:40 just be us at the end of the day.
00:44 Hopefully, not let it happen again.
00:46 [LAUGH] >> How exciting has it been to see
00:49 the round game take on the screen game and
00:51 know that you guys can beat people a lot of different ways?
00:54 >> It's very exciting, especially, it helps us out at receivers.
00:59 Can't put too many guys in coverage, gotta obviously stop the run.
01:04 So hopefully, we can keep that going.
01:06 But I wanna say hats off to the O-Linemen for getting that going.
01:09 If it's not for them, the round game is not doing anything.
01:14 So hats off to them as well.
01:15 >> You mentioned how they have to be on their point this week with all the blitz.
01:19 Do you like facing a team that blitzes a lot?
01:21 I mean, they create a lot of one-on-ones.
01:24 >> Yeah, it creates a lot of one-on-ones, but
01:25 it also creates havoc for the QB as well.
01:29 But Jake, he's been getting blitzed a lot his whole career.
01:36 So I mean, I'm pretty sure he's ready for it.
01:39 I know they've been preparing well in the quarterback room.
01:42 So you just gotta get those guys hats on hats and go from there.
01:48 >> What is Jake like in the hot end?
01:50 >> I mean, he's calm, confident, and you can tell he's taking charge of the offense.
01:54 So I mean, it's a guy that comes in with a lot of confidence.
01:57 He's not worried about making any mistakes.
02:01 And obviously, if he does make a mistake, and you got guys like Ted, Kappa,
02:06 guys on the line that's there to help him correct them.
02:09 And guys like me, TB, and Chase help him as well.
02:12 >> What do you notice that's different about Jake from one month ago before he
02:16 was a starter?
02:17 >> I mean, there's really no difference, man.
02:22 Even when he was behind Joe, he still came into work every day with confidence.
02:27 Preparing like he was a starter.
02:29 So I mean, there's really no difference to me personally.
02:34 >> This is your third different playoffs in a month.
02:36 Is there a different vibe to this one, a different feel to it?
02:40 >> It's a little different.
02:42 I wanna say we're not in the position that we was the past two years.
02:48 Got a little bit more fighting to do.
02:49 But I mean, same vibes, same vibes in the locker rooms it was past two years.
02:54 We just gotta keep going and keep fighting and keep playing Bengals football.
02:58 >> On further review, did you push off in the end zone?
03:00 Or was that not interference?
03:02 >> I don't think it was interference.
03:04 >> It's up, has it changed?
03:06 >> No. >> Still no P.I.
03:07 >> Still no P.I.
03:08 >> Was there anything you would have done differently on that play?
03:11 >> Definitely, I think they called it cuz I was trying to feel where he was at.
03:16 I probably could have not did that.
03:19 They probably wouldn't have called it, but I think that's why they called it,
03:22 which I guess I can understand.
03:24 But at the end of the day, let us play football, you know what I'm saying?
03:28 >> Natural to do that, to try to feel where he is?
03:31 Is that the basketball player?
03:32 >> Kinda, I guess you could say that, but gotta get out of that habit for sure.
03:37 Because they gonna keep calling, so.
03:39 >> So you put up 34 points as an offense back to back weeks,
03:43 430 yards or so net average last two days.
03:47 Is there an expectation now that this happens, it's gonna get into a rhythm?
03:51 >> Man, of course, man.
03:52 We just gotta, I mean, keep it going, man.
03:55 34 points, 400 yards the past two weeks, I mean, that's a lot.
03:59 And that speaks for itself with the running game and the passing game, man.
04:03 We just gotta keep it going and hopefully keep it going this week and
04:07 come out with that W.
