00:04 the Health Department's advice is to be careful of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases
00:08 and other infectious diseases.
00:10 This is Sistina Panginiban Perez.
00:12 Christmas parties are now being held every other night.
00:17 Can we still be healthy?
00:20 No excuses, said the Health Department,
00:22 because we can avoid all kinds of "ma" foods.
00:25 Salty, fatty, and sweet.
00:30 Limit the eating of processed foods that are high in salt.
00:35 That's junk food.

00:40 That's the trend now.
00:42 With all the lekchon that we're eating and the oily meals that we're eating.
00:47 Drink plenty of water,
00:49 and avoid drunken drinks and sugary drinks.
00:53 And if you're going to take home,
00:55 you should be intelligent about what you're taking home.
00:59 The food that will last.
01:00 Common sense.
01:01 Smell it.
01:03 If it smells bad, don't force yourself to cook it.
01:06 Throw it.
01:07 Don't just listen to the party.
01:09 You should get enough sleep and exercise.
01:12 Wash your hands.
01:14 And if you feel sick,
01:16 we are encouraging the public to wear masks if you are experiencing symptoms.
01:21 Or better yet, just stay at home.
01:24 If you have acute respiratory illnesses.
01:28 The DOH is still encouraging voluntary masking.
01:31 Even though the number of COVID cases is high,
01:33 and there are three hospitals in Metro Manila,
01:36 the COVID beds are almost full.
01:38 It's not the same in the whole country.
01:41 And even though the number of cases is possible in the provinces,
01:46 it's not alarming.
01:49 The DOH and private hospitals are ready
01:52 to add more COVID beds if the number of cases increases.
01:56 Our hospitals are ready if the number of cases increases.
02:03 COVID variants are not that severe anymore,
02:06 except for the elderly and the weak.
02:09 The most recent variants of interest are just like the common colds and cough.
02:16 Common colds and flu.
02:18 There are also many influenza-like illnesses that are contagious.
02:22 There are almost 200,000 cases.
02:24 Almost 300,000 people are dead.
02:26 That's why it's important to cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
02:31 The Archdiocese of Manila is also reminding
02:34 those who will be attending the worship services and those who will be attending the worship services
02:37 to wear voluntary masking.
