00:00 Manila and Manila Water will add a new year's fee.

00:08 The additional expenses for the water bill will be added once January comes.

00:15 The MWSS Regulatory Office has already approved the additional fee

00:20 for the projects that will ensure continuous water services.

00:25 For customers in Manila who consume 10 cubic meters of water,

00:30 the additional fee will be 4 pesos and 74 centavos per month.

00:34 The additional fee can reach up to 200 pesos per month if the consumption is 30 cubic meters or more.

00:41 The additional fee for Manila Water depends on the consumption.

00:44 It can be up to 3 pesos if the consumption is 10 cubic meters or more,

00:48 or up to 155 pesos if the consumption is 30 cubic meters or more.

00:53 Inflation is also included in the bill.

00:55 The new sources of water, such as deep wells,

00:59 and pipes are included in the tariff adjustment projects.

01:03 This will allow Manila Water to distribute the supply if necessary.

01:07 This year, Manila Water spent more than 11 billion pesos on this.

01:12 Manila spent almost 17 billion pesos.

01:16 I'm asking the public for their understanding.

01:18 If we don't do this tariff adjustment, we might have problems.

01:23 It is understood that this will still be added for the next expenses of consumers,

01:28 especially after Christmas.

01:32 Because if the water is lost, it will be difficult.

01:35 It will be a daily necessity.

01:38 We will just take a dip because we need water.

01:41 Despite the high water bills,

01:43 the MWSS Regulatory Office assured that there will be no problems with the supply

01:48 even if we can already feel the effects of El Niño.

01:52 We have planned already for it.

01:55 That is why I can assure the public that there will be no water crisis in 2024.
